Evaluation of the Pitch On the 28th February I pitched my idea to my lecture’s to get their view and opinion of my idea and to see what advise they could give me to help improve my progress throughout this project. I thought that my pitch went well and that I included everything I should have. I spoke in a calm and professional manner for my audience to understand me clearly. The information I included on my slides was up to a good standard and included everything which they needed to know. The information which was not on the slides and what they needed to know, I used for my cue cards as I did not want my slides to be busy. The main idea which I wanted to get across to my audience was that I want to promote GH as a photographer in her own way, to show her personality through the video and see her talent and capability. I think that I got my idea across well and that my audience liked my idea and are excited to see the end result. Where I could have improved on is to have spoken more about a certain topic such as my music. I wish I went into more detail and created a separate slide for it rather than reading of my cue cards on the proposal and visual style slide. The questions which I was asked were specifically aimed at the existing footage which I will be using in the promo video. Barrie White asked me whether I had permission from the owner of the exhibition video and the Prague video to use in the promo video. I replied in a professional manner and replied with “I do have permission from the owners of the video and that they are allowing me to use as much footage as I like.” Another question which I was asked was what music I would be using. I responded with “I will be producing my own music alongside my client as both her and I have contacts within the music industry that are willing to produce us a piece for our promo video.” I was also asked about the interview which I will use within the content of my client. With this they suggested that I should do a run through of the interview to know what questions I would answer and the answers which GH will reply with. Another suggestion which they made was about the title of the piece, ‘Experimental Impressions’ and ‘Finding Memories.’ They suggested to me that my client and I discuss the title in more detail and decide on a permanent name for the project. In response to the
advice, “I will be talking to my client over the next week to discuss the title in more detail and to decide on the title for the video.” In conclusion, I have taken in the advice and suggestions from my lectures and I will consider everything they said to help improve my project and my relationship with my client.
