Eminem was born Marshall Bruce Mathers III on October 17, 1972, in Saint Joseph, Missouri.

His father abandoned the family when he was 18 months old, and he was raised solely by his mother. By the age of 12, Mathers and his mother had moved between various cities and towns in Missouri. When Mathers was around 11 years old, his maternal uncle Ronald "Ronnie" Polkinghorn introduced him to the genre after giving him a copy of Ice-T's single "Reckless". In 1999, Eminem released his first major studio album, The Slim Shady LP. In "'97 Bonnie and Clyde, he describes a trip with his infant daughter, disposing of his wife's body. Another song, "Guilty Conscience", ends with his encouraging a man to murder his wife and her love; it seems to me that this kind of songs were outrageous. The Marshall Mathers LP was released in May 2000. The first single released from the album, "The Real Slim Shady", was a success and created some controversy by insulting celebrities and making dubious claims about them; he states, among other things, that Christina Aguilera performed oral sex on Fred Durst and Carson Daly. As you can see, many of his songs arent appropriate, so they were censored in some parts. The album Curtain Call: The Hits was released in December, 2005. In this album, we can find many hits of Eminem. In the last songs of Eminem we can find "Love the Way You Lie" , which was the best-selling single of 2010 in the United Kingdom even though it did not reach number 1 there, this is the first time this has happened in the UK since 1969. 8 Mile is a 2002 American hip-hop drama film written by Scott Silver and starring Eminem. The film is an account of a young white rapper named Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith Jr. (Eminem) living in inner city Detroit, Michigan , and his attempt to launch a rap career in an industry dominated by African Americans. Eminem won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Lose Yourself," the song which was iconic to this film. A decade after its release, Vibe magazine called the film a "hip-hop movie masterpiece." In the movie, "B-Rabbit" is a person with no initiative, so loses his opportunities to do what he really wants. Well, now lets talk about some songs, for example: Lose yourself, which I have just mentioned. Lose Yourself is for many people the best song of Eminem. This song is about taking a chance at success and not letting anyone stopping you from what you want no matter what. It is about having only one shot to show his true potential. In the film he failed his first opportunity and knew the 2nd time he got he had to take it- his last opportunity to do everything he ever wanted. The lyrics, the accompaniment, everything is perfect in this song. I believe that this song is the best in the history of Hip Hop. And I reaffirm, with this song he won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Other song would be Stan, this song is about a fan who was obsessed with him, and in the end the fan kills his-self because he didnt get any answer to the letters he sent. The last song Im going to talk about is When Im Gone. Let me explain the meaning: Because of the music, he became a busy person; as a result he didnt have time to be with his daughter and his family. In this song, Eminem says that he is trying to leave the music to be more time with his daughter. This song expresses the rage of Eminem for not being a good father. If you ask me, this is a beautiful song, not only because of the lyrics; here we can see that the singer doesnt want to commit the same mistake that his father committed. Even tough, Eminem has a lot of fans, wherever he goes, he generates a hullaballoo, however; he seems to be indifferent to them. Personally speaking, Eminem is one of the best artists of the last times. But Im not the only person who believes this; many people say hes the greatest artist of the last times. For this reason, the Rolling Stone magazine declared him Artist of the Decade. And I might add that the same magazine declared him the King of Hip Hop.
