1st Annual Fun in the Sun for Scholarship Funds

About: Jesuit and Ursuline are inviting you to the First Annual Fun in the Sun for Scholarship Funds fundraising event that will benefit the students of both schools financially, as many students need financial aid to attend each school. The purpose of the event is to raise money for the SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS of the URSULINE ACADEMY OF DALLAS and the FINANCIAL AID PACKAGES of JESUIT COLLEGE PREPARATORY SCHOOL OF DALLAS! The money raised at the event will be divided equally between the two schools. Its a fun way for everyone to get involved and "set" these kids up for their bright future! Come out to Craig Ranch in McKinney to enjoy Food, Music, Sand Volleyball, and FUN! When/Where: Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 11:00 AM 3:00 PM @ The Beach at Craig Ranch (6145 Alma Road, McKinney, TX 75070). ***Sign-in for 2v2 begins at 10:30 AM. Sign-in for 4-6v4-6 begins at 11:30 AM. Tournament Format: Two divisions: o 2 people versus 2 people (can be any age or either gender) o 4-6 people versus 4-6 people (all-boy, all-girl, coed, faculty, or parent teams, or a mix of anyone) ***NOTE: if you choose to have four players on your team and are playing a team with 6 people, the two extra players on the 6-person team will NOT SIT OUT. ALL MEMBERS OF EVERY TEAM WILL BE PLAYING AT ALL TIMES DURING A GAME! o It is possible to play in both divisions, but you must pay $5 more for individuals who will be playing in both divisions, only check the box on one of the registration forms, and turn in the extra $5 with that registration sheet. Each team is guaranteed at least 3 games, as we will be playing pool play and then playoffs! The start time of the 2v2 matches is at 11:00 AM, one hour before the 4-6v4-6 matches begin at 12:00. Each team will have a designated Team Captain who will be responsible for relaying the information that Dana or Tanner sends to the Captain. Payment: $15 per person and payments can be made in cash or check when turning in the registration form. For people who are entering both divisions, check the box only on one of the registration forms and turn in the extra $5 dollars with that registration! ***Checks should be made payable to Ursuline Students Support Scholarships Club. WAVER/RELEASE
In consideration of my (or if the participant is a minor, the minor's) entry and/or participation in Fun in the Sun for Scholarship Funds Sand Volleyball Tournament and associated events (collectively, the Sand Volleyball Tournament), I do hereby release, discharge, hold harmless, indemnify, acquit, and promise not to sue The Beach at Craig Ranch, Craig Ranch, and their respective agents, employees, organizing officials, sponsors, representatives, and volunteers (collectively, the Craig Ranch Indemnified Parties) from any and all claims of damage, causes of action, suit, costs, charges, claims, demands, and liabilities of whatever kind, name, or nature in any manner arising out of my (or if I am signing as parent or legal guardian of a minor, the minor's) participation or involvement in said Sand Volleyball Tournament. This release extends to all claims of every kind or nature whatsoever, foreseen or unforeseen, known or unknown. This release is intended to cover all non-fatal or fatal injuries and illnesses of any kind or nature which may be sustained or suffered from any cause whatsoever connected or arising out of the participation in, or involvement with, the Sand Volleyball Tournament and associated events. I, the undersigned, know that the Sand Volleyball Tournament is an event which carries the risk of personal injury, and I know that there are natural and man-made obstacles and hazards, surfaces, and environmental conditions and risks, which in combination with my actions or other's actions, can cause severe or even fatal injury. I assume the risk of participating in the Sand Volleyball Tournament. I agree that I, as either a participant or legal guardian of a participant who is a minor, must take an active role in understanding and accepting these risks, conditions and hazards, and I attest and verify I have full knowledge of the risks involved in such events. I also agree that I, and not the Craig Ranch Indemnified Parties, am responsible for my (or if I am signing as the legal guardian of a minor, the minor's) safety while I (or the minor) participate or train for the event or associated events. I hereby grant full permission for the event organizers of the Sand Volleyball Tournament to use any photographs, videotapes, recordings, or any other record of these events for any purpose without compensation.
