Network Installation Overview
Overview
The COMPRESS network installation consists of three main steps: New installation: 1. Select installation type. 2. Designate and setup the Key Server. • All COMPRESS network installations require a Key Server. The computer you designate as the Key Server can be any computer on the network. When performing a Key Server installation, the HASP SRM Run-Time Environment, the Codeware Key Update Utility and, optionally, the COMPRESS application will be installed. The USB security key will be attached to the Key Server at the end of installation. Upgrade existing installation: 1. Determine if you have a Key Client or Shared Client setup type. 2. Update the Key Server. 3. Update the client workstations.

3. Install COMPRESS on the client workstations.

A Note on Passwords
Your USB security key was shipped to you with COMPRESS and all purchased licensed options enabled. For new installations, a password file is not used during this installation. For existing COMPRESS installations a one-time security key upgrade is required for your COMPRESS network license(s) to be compatible with COMPRESS 2011. If you have not received your COMPRESS Compatibility Upgrade Password File, please have your IT Systems Administrator contact key_support@codeware.com. Upon renewing your support or making additional license purchases, a password file (.cw2c) along with application instructions will be emailed to your account contact. Applying this password file to your key extends your support and/or activates your purchase.
