EAGLE-RESEARCH MISSION
Eagle-Research is an organization that develops and distributes practical energy solutions. We define practical as simple, inexpensive, environmentally-considerate, easy to build, low maintenance and, applicable to small scale energy needs. We gather information from diverse sources, perform comprehensive experiments using rigorous standards, then publish how-to books to share the results with other researchers and the general public. We believe that writing books insures that these technologies will be secured public knowledge, and that our patent-free philosophy promotes increasingly better energy solutions. Eagle-Research does not accept government grants. The money from the sale of our books and devices is used to finance on-going research.

DISCLAIMER
This book is sold for research and/or experimental purposes only. Therefore the results, which will vary according to the users knowledge, expertiseand application should be considered strictly experimental. George Wiseman, his associates and/or distributors, assume no responsibility for damage or injury due to the readers use or misuse of information or instructions presented herein. Although care is taken to present accurate information: If we knew what would happen, it wouldnt be an experiment. Therefore, the author will not retroactively inform or reimburse buyers if (when) there are corrections or updates to this book. Contact Eagle-Research for the latest developments. If the conditions outlined in the proceeding paragraphs are not acceptable, the buyer will return the book immediately to the seller, for a full refund.

WORK IN PROGRESS
Eagle-Research is a research and development organization dedicated to finding the best possible energy solutions. Because the nature of research and development is an evolving process, we are continually improving on the technologies we are working with. Though were proud of our commitment to constant and never-ending improvement, we do recognize there is an unfortunate side-effect: Our best today will pale in comparison to our best tomorrow. At any given date, the Eagle-Research discoveries, which are distributed in the form of web information; books; videos or devices, are at varying stages of development. Therefore, by the time our most up-to-date best can be compiled, organized, produced & distributed, weve already improved upon the information. Were working as fast as we can.

EAGLE-RESEARCH ADVOCATES PATENT-FREE TECHNOLOGY

I differ from most inventors in many ways. For one, I actually make my living and finance continued research by inventing. Two, I dont hold-back secrets of my innovations. Three, I do not patent my work. It is distributed worldwide as public knowledge, so no one else can patent it either. Actually, the patent office is very inefficient and people have gotten patents on my technology... usually to fraud investors. However, the patent is worthless. Patent law states public domain information is not patentable.

FINANCING OUR RESEARCH

As more work and research gets done, we will write further books in each of our lines of research. By writing a series of books in this manner, we can keep you updated on the latest information on energy saving research. Selling information is how we make money to continue our research. Therefore, you will not do yourself or your friends a favour if you copy this book to distribute to your friends. In doing so, you deprive us of funds to advance the research that will help us all.

DEDICATION AND SPECIAL THANKS

Im dedicating this book to my wife, Tenaj DaCosta Wiseman, who has helped me continue to develop my potential as a spirit on a human path. This has increased my ability to help others via patent-free technology. Special thanks to Joyce V. E. MacKay and Tenaj DaCosta Wiseman for the years they are spending, updating Eagle-Research publications to a format that is easily understood. I think they will also earn the gratitude of any reader who has read previous publications. Also thanks to the hundreds of people who have freely shared their ideas and experimental results so that all people may benefit (including themselves).

INTRODUCTION
During the last century, a good number of technologies have been developed which allow water to be used as a fuel. In some cases, the water partially replaces fossil-fuel. In other cases, water can be used wholly as a 'stand alone' fuel for internal combustion engines. HyZor Technology is one of the methods of using water as a fuel. In an internal combustion engine, the (modified) water enhances the combustion of any fossil-fuel. Efficiency of the combustion is increased enough, that the returned savings are greater, than the fuel used. The usual result: economy gain; performance increase; reduced harmful emissions, and, a cleaner engine. To make the necessary modifications, the water is split into hydrogen and oxygen, using a process called 'electrolysis'. The electrolysis takes place in an 'electrolyzer' (container). The electrolyzer in this manual has been specifically designed to be used as an 'on-board' device. This onboard electrolyzer is the 'HyZor'. There are several variations and options to choose from. The HyZor electrolyzer uses technology developed from Brown's Gas (BG) research and, is currently, the most advanced of its kind in the world. Its expected that this manual will cause an immediate new standard for on-board electrolyzers. And, in a short time, the resulting experience and research will set an even higher standard. Over the years, several companies have sold devices that use the vehicle's alternator to split water (onboard electrolyzers) and feed the resulting water-fuel (usually Browns Gas) into the engine. Some of these

devices have been sold for prices over $4,500 installed. HyZor Technology details how to home-build an on-board electrolyzer that is superior to any that have ever been marketed. The simplest uses less than $50 worth of parts. The deluxe system will cost up to $500. HyZor assembly is straight forward. The parts are easy to find or build, and are usually, inexpensive. The HyZor operation can be made automatic, just add water. The maintenance is minimal, if you put only clean water into it. The HyZor is an 'on-demand' Brown's Gas system that generates the gas only when the engine is actually running. There is absolutely no BG storage, other than the residual amount in the container and lines. In case of a backfire there may be a slight explosion (sounding like a 'pop') as the residual BG returns to its water state. The HyZor can be applied on any internal combustion engine and can be used with any fuel burned in an internal combustion engine. It will work with all carburetors and all fuel injection systems. It will work on two and four cycle engines. Installation is simple. Just mount the HyZor and run a vacuum hose to your engine (several placement options are discussed later). Follow the wiring diagram and youre finished. You can do it in your spare time and installation will not stop you (or your spouse) from using your vehicle during the HyZor installation process. When BG is burned, you get back almost the same amount of energy that was used to break the water apart (electricity from the alternator). However, gasoline engines are only

Eagle-Research has been working on high mileage since 1976, and publicly since 1984. Weve had the pleasure of sharing ideas with people who have also worked for high mileage for years. This combining of experience develops practical solutions faster than any other method we know. If you are trying to build a gas saver of your own, it is our pleasure to help you make it work. You now have access to our store of information and experience, much of which is not yet written down and is always increasing. Speaking as inventors, we are always exasperated when we invent something and then find it already on the market, usually better than we did it. Searches of patent records can be both sobering and educational. It is to our advantage to help you, then we know what you've done and we don't have to repeat your experiments. This represents a huge savings in money and time for both you and us. Or your experiments can confirm something that has already been done (duplication is very important). It is to your advantage to contact us, because you may be doing something someone else has already done and we can help you make it work. Very little in our books is brand new, much has been invented before. The problem: None of those innovations are in the public domain so we (you and us) don't know about them. We've taken the pro-active philosophy of re-inventing these technologies. Further, we take the extra time to make the technologies 'buildable' at a backyard or even kitchen table level. So people can do-it-themselves. And finally, we share the technology with the world through the non-profit organization of Eagle-Research (E-R). This sharing of 'doable' technology has evolved into a 'mutual' sharing. Readers of Eagle-Research literature send us their thoughts and test results; for which we thank you now, on behalf of all the world. The combination of volunteer brain power has vastly accelerated development of the various technologies; such as Fuel Savers, Brown's Gas, Free Energy and Tesla Technology.

HyZor Technology Manual / www.eagle-research.com

Development in one field can often be applied to enhance another field:

Example 1: Capacitive Power Supply technology caused a huge leap forward in Brown's Gas electrolyzer design; also in this HyZor technology, as you will see; also in simple superefficient battery chargers; and in miniature, simple, efficient power supplies for circuit boards... Example 2: The Carburetor Enhancer (with it's electronic upgrade); the Electronic Diverter and the EFIE are examples of technologies developed to allow the application of ANY combustion enhancement technology (Eagle-Research and other) to Carbureted or Fuel Injected vehicles.

about 25% efficient. Alternators are about 80% efficient, some are much less. On the other hand, the BG electrolyzer (HyZor) is about 90% efficient. By burning BG in an engine, you will 'directly' gain back about 20 percent of the fuel-energy used to create the BG in the HyZor. This is a negative energy cycle and would result in a loss in mileage, except that: The Brown's Gas from the HyZor increases engine combustion efficiency, which usually more than compensates for the 80% loss in the fossil-fuel energy used to make the BG. Example, at 5 amps the HyZor uses about 0.09 horsepower (making about 25 liters of BG per hour). The BG increases the horsepower of the engine because the BG increases the burn efficiency of the fossil-fuel. Power increase varies with each vehicle. Our example assumes a net 1 horsepower increase. Power gained can convert directly to fuel saved. If you are traveling at 60 mph getting 15 mpg and you are driving a vehicle that uses 15 horsepower to maintain that speed. If you get even 1 more net horsepower than before the HyZor, you have an actual net engine efficiency gain of 6%. This would result in about 12% mileage increase (assuming you maintained the same speed and are now using only 14 hp). This fuel savings is possible because the engine currently throws away 3 hp worth of fuel to get 1 useful (mechanical) horsepower. If you increase the engine efficiency even a bit, the fuel savings become dramatic. In actual road tests with on-board electrolyzers, our research shows normal economy gains from 5% up to 30%. A few people have shown gains near 50%. This manual details how you can achieve the optimum possible gains.

Advantages of Using Browns Gas

Brown's Gas (BG) is a mixture of hydrogen, oxygen and water vapor. All of these increase the efficiency of combustion when mixed with fossil fuels. Experiments indicate that the reason BG is useful in this application (adding it to the combustion of fossil fuel) is because the hydrogen atoms (and flame) actually act as a catalyst, assisting the hydrocarbon fuel to break apart it's molecule bonds faster and using less energy. This leaves more fuel energy for the engine to convert to mechanical energy. This effect is extremely well documented, (starting nearly 100 years ago). You can read more about it in the HyZor Support Book Series. see resources The addition of hydrogen also helps the fuel to burn more smoothly, which increases it's effective 'octane' rating. Generally, pre-ignition, detonation and knock are reduced or eliminated. Because of the 'catalytic' effect, the fossil-fuel combustion takes place faster, an advantage when trying to maximize the engine efficiency. Pollution and opacity in exhaust readings are usually reduced by about 40%, but can drop to nearly zero. Since there are less carbon particles and acids building up in the oil, the engine runs cleaner. Oil changes are not needed as often. The engine lasts longer because there is less (or no) carbon buildup on engine components, which causes poor heat conduction and erosion of metal. Brown's Gas puts much more than just hydrogen into the engine. The

In electrolyzers, negative electrodes are called cathodes. Positive electrodes are called anodes. Hydrogen is formed at the cathode. Oxygen is formed at the anode. During electrolysis, these gases are formed in direct relationship to one another; 2 parts hydrogen to 1 part oxygen by volume, or 1 pound of hydrogen for every 8 pounds of oxygen.

We keep the HyZor at a vacuum for a reason. It is safer. Electrolysis is actually a little more efficient under pressure, but pressure means a higher gas density and as the gas density increases, so does it's explosive power. We do not want you to have a bomb in your vehicle. Heed this warning. Do not allow gas pressure to build in your HyZor container.

www.eagle-research.com / HyZor Technology Manual

extra oxygen and water vapor increase combustion efficiency far more than hydrogen alone. BG also has up to 3 times higher energy potential than hydrogen alone. BG does not use oxygen from the air to burn, so it does not use oxygen needed by the normal fuel. Further, the oxygen and hydrogen from a HyZor is 'reactive' because it is freshly made. It is a more powerful mixture (for catalytic action) than 'bottled' gasses.

plates all have direct electrical connections to each other, but not to the positive plates. For efficiency, the positive and negative plates are usually interspersed: positive, negative, positive, negative with a narrow gap between the plates. The electrical current (electron flow) flows from the negative plates across the electrolyte to the positive plates. The voltage, usually about 2 volts, of this type of electrolyzer, is exactly what it takes to move the current across the electrolyte gap. We discovered years ago that you can insert the parallel-plate electrolyzer in series with an existing load. Example: Your headlights and heater fan are loads that require substantial amp draws. This is to prevent amperage run-away. (Details later) The parallel-plate electrolyzer operates on amperage (the more amps, the more hydrogen) with very little voltage drop (about 2 volts). So it is possible to put the parallel-plate electrolyzer in series with the headlights and/or heater fan. Then you'd be producing hydrogen at a consistent rate with no 'additional' load on the alternator. The more loads you can put in parallel, to run their amperage through the electrolyzer in this fashion, the better the results will be. Amps make gas; more amps = more gas. In this case, you are creating the BG at 'no' additional fuel cost. Youre using power that would have been used anyway. Its just being siphoned away from other loads. It is safer to drive with the headlights on, anyway. This technique causes the headlights to be a little dimmer, and the fan a little slower. Otherwise, this works quite well to prevent the amperage run-away problem.

Using Browns Gas Safely

Brown's Gas has a ratio of 2/3 hydrogen and 1/3 oxygen, with some water vapor, as well as some miscellaneous gases. It is an explosive mixture and must be treated with respect. Never ignite Brown's Gas or hydrogen outside a combustion chamber. You can breathe Brown's Gas. It is not poisonous. However, if it were to explode in your lungs, you'd turn into a gory mist. No smoking or open sparks! Brown's Gas also contains 'reactive' oxygen and trace amounts of electrolyte, which your lungs will not appreciate. These traces can be removed if you want to use BG as a breathing gas. Brown's Gas concentrations are not usually an issue because hydrogen is lighter than air and dissipates so quickly that explosive concentrations are nearly impossible. Always use in a ventilated area. Typical HyZors will produce about 50 liters of gas per hour. This is a tiny amount of gas compared to the amount needed to run an engine. Example: 3,000 liters per hour of Brown's Gas is required to idle a 140 cubic inch engine (4 cylinder) at 475 rpm. Actual test data report Brown's Gas, Book 2, video footage Brown's Gas, Video 2. At room temperature and under low pressure, BG will remain unchanged for a long time. But if it is heated to its ignition point, even at one tiny spot, it will explode. The higher the pressure of gas, in the container, the more powerful will be the explosion. There is a temperature-pressure relationship that will cause BG to selfexplode. As the temperature rises, you have to have less pressure. As the pressure rises, you have to have less temperature. The HyZor operates at very low pressures so that it can operate at higher temperatures.

Parallel-plate vs Series-plate Electrolyzer

The two basic types of electrolyzer designs are: a 'parallel-plate' which uses low voltage and high amperage; and the 'series-plate' which uses low amperage and high voltage. Eagle-Research HyZor technology is based on the series-plate type. The traditional parallel-plate electrolyzer is not included in this manual because it is less efficient than the series-plate electrolyzer. (See Brown's Gas, Book 1.for a parallel-plate BG electrolyzer.) For people who already own parallelplate electrolyzers or want to build one, here are a couple of details.
Fig. 1: Parrallel-Plate
+ plates 2 volts plates Single-cell

The traditional parallel-plate electrolyzer has a minimum of 2 plates and can have as many plates as desired. Half of the plates are polarized positive; the other half negative. The positive plates all have direct electrical (metal to metal) connections to each other, but not to the negative plates. The negative

A static electricity discharge can cause BG to explode. Usually, static electricity fields are homogenous. But there is a problem if you have any sharp points or sharp edges inside the container that holds the BG. These points will cause electricity to concentrate, and will ignite the BG. BG carries it's own electrical charge, similar to static electricity. Mechanics deal with small quantities of BG all the time. Most car batteries produce BG as a byproduct of their operation. When a battery is 'gassing' it is producing a form of BG because the hydrogen and oxygen produced are not separated, have water vapor and are freshly made. Its simple common sense safety to not produce flames or sparks near hydrogen sources or any combustible.

You can regain headlight intensity and make even more BG by installing high-amperage halogen headlights or driving lights. Use relays for these heavy loads so you don't burn out the vehicles original switches and wiring. It is a good idea to add a 'bypass switch' that returns the headlights (and/or fan) to their normal circuit anytime you want to disconnect the parallel-plate electrolyzer. Just make the switch so that it 'shorts out' the parallel-plate electrolyzer.
Fig. 2: Bypass Switch
+ Load 14 volts bypass switch

The concept of the series-plate is simple. Think of it as a group of single cells strung together in series, to make an electrolyzer, that has a total voltage rating that matches the available voltage. Line up 7 of 2-volt electrolyzer cells (imagine 7 individual parallel-plate cells) in series, to get a 'nominal' 14 volt potential difference across them all. In this way, an electrolyzer that is rated for the same voltage as the vehicle's electrical potential, is made. To make a series-plate design, put all the cells that were strung in series, into one device. In the series-plate type electrolyzer, there are no electrical connections between each plate, except the electrolyte itself. The electrolyte in each cell is isolated from the electrolyte in every other cell. The electricity enters the negative side of the electrolyzer and travels through each cell, electrolyte and plate in turn til it reaches the opposite, polarized positive, end of the electrolyzer. This type of electrolyzer is called 'bipolar' because each plate produces both hydrogen and oxygen. Each gas is formed on opposite sides of the plate. Hydrogen is produced on the side of the cell that is 'most negative' and oxygen on the side which is 'most positive'. In any case, all the formed gasses mix together above the cells, creating the mixture called Brown's Gas.

Single-cell

I was once in a shop where an apprentice blew the top blow off a battery as he was disconnecting a battery charger. It made a large bang in the shop. The apprentice wasn't hurt, just embarrassed. No, the apprentice wasn't me, I have other fascinating mistake-stories of my own. Hydrogen burns so fast and there really is so little gas at any given time that the chances of getting burnt are negligible. Though flying container bits can hurt. The main danger is that the explosion throws the sulfuric acid in the battery all over you. Turn the electricity off before disconnecting the leads from batteries or electrolyzers.

It is also a good idea to retrofit your parallel-plate electrolyzer with a safety shutoff so that the electrolyzer is producing gas only when the engine is actually running. (see 'Automatic Safety Shutoff Options) In our opinion, the parallel-plate electrolyzer is ancient history. It will work, but the series-plate electrolyzer has many advantages.

Series-plate Electrolyzer
Keeping in mind all of the historical problems of the parallel-plate electrolyzers, particularly the mismatched voltage problem, EagleResearch (and independent others) developed 'series-plate' electrolyzer. A normal electrolyzer cell is 2 volts. A typical vehicle's electrical system is 14 volts. This voltage difference causes a direct short.

Seven Series-Cell

In a 'series-plate' electrolyzer, since each plate is shared by two cells, each metal plate is both a cathode and an anode. The side of the plate 'facing' the negative input to the

www.eagle-research.com / HyZor Technology Manual

HyZor is more positive than the plate 'closest' to the negative input. Therefore, the 'closest' plate will make hydrogen and the 'farthest' plate will make oxygen. When you go to the other side of the plate that is making oxygen, you are in the next cell. That side of the plate is making hydrogen. Its much more efficient and uses less expensive parts to have a highvoltage low-amperage electrolyzer (series-plate) than a low-voltage high-amperage electrolyzer (parallelplate). The bi-polar series-plate concept has demonstrated as much as 3 times the volume of gas for the same wattage. This is the design used in Eagle-Researchs Water Torches, and it is the same basis used for the HyZor designs in this book. (see Brown's Gas, Book 2 for more details on bi-polar series-plate) Having the series-plate electrolyzer designed for 'nominal' 14 VDC, allows an operation of just less than 2 volts per cell. This tends to limit it's amperage run-away potential; increases it's overall efficiency; and provides additional cells for producing BG. Some experimenters use up to 10 cells in-series at 14 volts. We'll show you ways to use up to 120 cells in series, by doing special wiring from an alternator.

create enough Brown's Gas to increase combustion efficiency. Alternators need to be made as efficient as possible. Alternators are rated to produce enough electricity to operate the vehicle's applications. There is usually very little 'extra capacity'. Using more electricity than the alternator can produce, will cause the battery to become discharged. Also, an alternators ability to produce amperage is largely a factor of engine rpm. At idle, some alternators barely charge at all. This is particularly true of 'high amperage' alternators. Fortunately, it takes very little additional hydrogen to greatly increase combustion efficiency, when burning fossil-fuels. As little as 57 liters per hour (traditionally, about 10 amps with 7 series-cells) can make a significant difference, even in a 460 ci engine. The electricity that is taken from the alternator, to produce BG, needs to be used in the most efficient way. For every watt of energy, taken from the alternator as electricity, about 5 watts of fuel is used. This is called a negative wattage return. Solution 1: You are much more likely to get the maximum efficiency gain if you use only a few amps to get a lot of BG. Problem2: Heating of the electrolyte causes wild swings in cell resistance thereby causing amperage run-away. If the alternator were able to provide it, , an uncontrolled electrolyzer would draw hundreds of amps. Past methods, to control amperage run-away, were very crude and in most cases, caused the electrolyzer to be significantly less efficient.
HyZor Technology Manual / www.eagle-research.com Before we discovered the efficiency of the series-plate electrolyzer design, we even toyed with putting the electrolyzer in series with the battery so that all electrical loads would go through the electrolyzer. When you put the vehicles electricity through the electrolyzer, make absolute certain there is electrolyte in the electrolyzer. Otherwise, you'll lose electrical power to the vehicle. And, don't include the starter circuit as part of the electrolyzer circuit.

People often think that vehicles operate on a 12 VDC system. It is a 'nominal' 12 VDC system. It actually operates somewhere around 14 VDC or even a bit higher. This is because a battery requires at least 13.6 volts to fully recharge it. To see this for yourself, test the battery voltage while the engine is running, after the engine has been running for awhile and had a chance to fully charge the battery.

Designing a Practical HyZor

As stated before, on-board electrolyzers are nothing new. Many companies have sold them in the past. Why? Because they work! However, there are several problems that need better solutions to make on-board hydrogen electrolyzer systems, practical for the road: Problem 1: The alternator (or generator) has a limited ability to efficiently produce extra amps. Additional amperage is needed to

!!!!!This is very important!!!!! There is an optimum volume of BG for your engine. Producing more than that volume will not give you further gains in efficiency. We are using hydrogen as a catalyst to increase the combustion efficiency; after maximum efficient catalyst concentration we note a drop in mileage because you are no longer getting a gain from the combustion efficiency increase to compensate for the negative wattage return of creating the BG.

Solution 2: HyZor technology offers several options to control amperage run-away, while maintaining the electrolyzer, in it's optimum efficient design parameters. Problem 3: What are the secrets of efficient on-board electrolyzer design? And where are the details to help me home-build my own electrolyzer?
Engines that use generators instead of alternators to re-charge their startup batteries can use this technology, too. They just need to pick the options applicable to generators.

to fit the HyZor (that is one advantage to building your own HyZor). The amount of amperage available for your use is usually limited by the alternator's ability to produce amperage. You must keep the alternator amperage draw to a value that will allow you to operate other electrical devices like lights; fuel pump; heater fan... without overloading the alternator. Test your alternator or have it tested. See how much amperage it needs to run your electrical devices by putting an ammeter in the power wire, from the alternator. With the engine running, turn on all the electrical appliances, at their full power, that are likely to be turned on at one time Record the amps. Put a full load on the alternator itself (regular alternator load test) to see what it's maximum output amperage is. This test will also tell you if your alternator is operating correctly. It may need repair before you can proceed. Subtract the actual load from the maximum output. If you find less than ten amps available, consider putting in a larger alternator. Also consider reducing some of the loads to more efficient means. You should have at least ten amps to play with before adding on a HyZor. If you want to add an entirely separate alternator just for the HyZor, then it can be re-wired to produce high voltage for maximum HyZor efficiency (beyond anything achievable with low voltage). Don't overload your vehicle's electrical system. If you run the alternator at near 100% amperage for long periods of time, it will burn up.

Solution 3: Detailed plans are included in this manual. This information will help previous builders of on-board electrolyzers, by enabling them to upgrade their technology to the new standards. This will also bring down the price of commercial units by promoting free enterprise and providing everyone with the best possible technology. As more people use this technology, new ideas will be shared with EagleResearch. The information will be made available in future books, and the industry standard will rise again. This has happened each time EagleResearch has applied our 'Patent-free Philosophy' to a technology.

Reading this whole book will give you the knowledge to come back to this point and start making power supply design decisions. Again; for optimum efficiency, you must design the HyZor to fit the power supply.

Electrolyzers heat up as a normal side effect of producing gas because the re-combination of mon-atomic hydrogen and oxygen to their di-atomic forms is exothermic (see 'Brown's Gas, Book 1' for details). And, because amperage passing through the resistance of the electrolyte, creates heat.

HyZor POWER SUPPLY

The first thing to consider when designing your HyZor, is the 'power supply'. Contemplate both the capability (capacity and efficiency) of your vehicle's alternator and how you want to apply that power to your HyZor. Before design considerations: BEFORE you actually start to design and build the HyZor or it's associated power supply, consider the size of your alternator; it's ability to produce excess current, and your willingness to modify it. These are vital factors that need to be addressed. The HyZor must be designed to fit the power supply, not the power supply

you'd put the bottom of the liquid level drain hole at 2 inches above the bottom of the inner tube.
A 1" schedule 40 pipe inside a 2.5" schedule 40 pipe is about right for a HyZor operating up to 100 liters per hour (with steam). Another design is to extend the inner tube through the 'lid' and higher than the outer tube.

For a typical HyZor, you want the inner tube to be at least 1 inch ID. The lower plate should be supported in the center only if the inner tube is greater than 2 inches in diameter. The SS plate welded onto the bottom of the inner tube needs 1/16" holes drilled through it, on 3/8" centers. Do not drill holes within 1/4 inch of walls.

efficient (to a point). Which is why we recommend heating the HyZor with engine coolant. Warm up the HyZor to it's normal operation temperature by using external heating option or by simply running it. Shut off power to the HyZor and stabilize the engine idle RPM. Start adding amperage to the HyZor (start gas production). Add amperage at 1/2 amp, every few seconds, to allow the engine to stabilize. You will note an RPM (and vacuum) rise. As long as the RPM is rising, keep adding amperage. When the RPM stops rising, stop adding amperage. At this point you have maximized your efficiency gains.

640 RPM 620 630

Anyone who is trying to increase the efficiency of their fuel system should invest in at least 1 (and preferably 2) colortunes.

Adjusting / Tuning a HyZor

Optimum amperage will depend on variables unique to each application. Carbureted vehicles: Install and adjust your Carburetor Enhancer (preferably with the electronic upgrade), before installing the HyZor. Then add and adjust the HyZor as described. Finally, readjust the Carburetor Enhancer to achieve maximize efficiency. Electronic Fuel Injected vehicles that have oxygen sensors: Add an EFIE on each oxygen sensor and adjust them for maximum lean (instructions are included with the EFIE device or Manual). Then add the HyZor and adjust it as described. The EFIE may then be finally adjusted for maximum efficiency. Fuel Injected vehicles with no oxygen sensors, including diesel and propane powered vehicles: Reduce the fuel from the regular fuel system after you add BG from the HyZor. Bring the idle back to normal. Tuning the HyZor: Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature. Add an RPM and/or vacuum gauge. An RPM gauge is preferred. As the HyZor warms up, it gets more

Once you've done the custom tuning, you can determine what your optimum gas volume is by the volume displacement method. Get a small bottle, about 500 ml, and measure its internal volume, exactly. Fill a 5 US gallon bucket with water. Submerge the bottle and allow it to fill with water. Turn the bottle so the opening is down. With the HyZor producing BG, insert the hose into the bottle so that it catches the gas bubbles. Start the stopwatch the instant you put the hose into the underwater container. You will need to hold the container so that the liquid level inside the container is level with the liquid level outside the container (let it rise as it fills with gas). Measure the seconds it takes to fill the container with gas. Calculate the liters per hour. Example: 500 mL bottle fills in 36.23 sec. 500 36.23 = 13.8 mL/sec. 13.8 X 60 X 60 = 49,680 mL/hr 49,680 1,000 = 49.68 L/hr.

Representative only. Every application is unique

3 4 Amperage

The HyZor is designed to operate hot, and depends on the water turning to steam to 'cool' it. This gains the best of both worlds. Hot electrolyzers can produce more gas because they can use up to 30% energy input as heat instead of electricity. The steam also enhances fossil-fuel combustion. The way to achieve maximum efficiency is to produce the most BG for every watt of electricity you take from the alternator. The addition of BG into the combustion process speeds up and smoothes out the initial explosion. The result of faster combustion is increased mileage and performance. Reasons why this happens are included in the Extreme Mileage book. (ETA 2002)

Efficiency Testing Notes

When a HyZor is applied to an engine, it will immediately start to clean out the carbon deposits in your cylinder. This will cause a rise in the carbon content of the exhaust til the engine is cleaned. Then, the exhaust will be much cleaner than any 'before' test. This is mostly important to 'opacity' tests with diesels. How long it takes the HyZor to clean an engine depends on the carbon buildup. It could be hours or weeks. It will eventually clean the engine. In five or six days of road driving, most engines have the bulk of carbon removed. It is a good idea to make sure your vehicle is in good operating condition and tuned up before applying the HyZor. By keeping track of your fuel consumption, you will be able to see the gains achieved. We are preparing a collection of reports and references from a spectrum of credible sources (including ourselves :)) and consolidating them in the HyZor Support Book series. These references include independent documentation of using on-board electrolyzers (and various other means that add hydrogen) to enhance combustion in internal combustion engines. We appreciate copies of your testing records, comments and testimonials. This feedback allows further development of the HyZor technology for the benefit of everyone on the planet.

Assuming that the engine is running, the HyZor does not produce enough BG to be a combustible mixture once it is mixed with the engines intake air. To produce enough BG to run a 350 cubic inch engine down the road at 55 mph would require 'in the order of' 250 times the BG that the HyZor makes at 10 amps current draw. The HyZor produces just enough BG to enhance fossil-fuel combustion. Engines run smoother, cooler, cleaner and longer. You should notice a mileage and performance improvement. You will notice a reduction in the major pollutants, namely, oxides of nitrogen, hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. You will be able to add direct water injection for further savings. Studies have shown that BG acts as a catalyst to assist additional water to be used with fossil-fuels.
The BG will typically raise the 'octane' rating of your combustion; reducing preignition, detonation and knock. This may allow you to set your ignition timing more advanced as you are driving. Generally the ignition does not have to be changed as the faster combustion gives the same result as if the ignition was advanced. In some cases, maximum efficiency can be achieved by setting the ignition spark later.

HyZor MAINTENANCE
Water will have to be added periodically. How much depends on your application. Assuming 5 amps of current and have 7 cells, you would produce about 22 Liters of BG per hour. When water turns into BG, it expands about 1,000 times. So, 2 Liters of Gas comes from 0.022 mL of water. A mL of water weighs 1 gram. You would be converting a gram of water, about every 45 hours. Using the 'automatic water fill' option in areas that freeze in winter, will require keeping the water tank, and water lines, heated. Or, make them so that they are easily disconnected to carry into warm storage. Or, design them so freezing water will not damage them. We don't usually use the automatic water fill option in the winter. Its just as easy to add water

to the HyZor when we fill up on fuel and check the oil. Use clean water (distilled or deionized) or impurities will build up in the electrolyzer. We don't recommend tap water at all unless cleaned by de-ionization or distillation. If you can't clean the water yourself, then buy deionized or distilled bottled water. It is available in most grocery stores. How often cleaning is required, depends on how impure the water was. If you use pure water, you'll only have to clean it once every five years or so.

HyZor, preventing it from reaching your engine. The steam enhances combustion. The condensed steam will add to the bubbler liquid level til it overflows into the engine. When using the 'hot' HyZor option, have a hot bubbler too, and use diesel (instead of water) as the working fluid. A hot bubbler will allow the steam to pass right through it. The bubbler doesnt have to be specifically heated. It will heat itself by the steam coming into it. If you place it onto something hot (like the HyZor container) and insulate it, it will heat enough and stay hot enough to prevent water buildup. Diesel, as the working fluid, will not evaporate from the steam and will not freeze in winter. When you drain the bubbler, pour the diesel into a container so that the water and lye can separate out of it (it takes a day or so). You can then re-use the diesel. Don't pour it down the drain. It is very bad for septic systems and the environment.

Do not use pure water, if using a bubbler in winter. If the bubbler freezes, it will block gas flow from the HyZor, causing a HyZor pressure rise and you'll have a bomb. It is better to use diesel or an adequate mixture of antifreeze.

Bubbler Maintenance
If you are using the 'hot' HyZor option, you should insulate all your BG hoses, so the steam gets to your engine.

Bubbler Maintenance is important. Design yours so that it can be easily removed or use valves to clean it in place by flushing it with fresh water. You can clean the bubbler as often as you add water to the HyZor. This will, more than reasonably, prevent lye from getting into the engine. If you build a large bubbler, you can go longer periods of time without cleaning. To drain the bubbler, put a 1/4" hose and valve on the lower drain hole. Route the hose to a convenient location (hose should have continuous drop, no loops). When refilling, leave the liquid level hole open (or use a sight tube). Fill til fluid comes out the liquid level hole, or, the level is correct in the sight tube. A bubbler can use any kind of reasonably clean water. Tap water is okay. In the winter, a proper solution of water and antifreeze is fine. A bubbler will tend to condense any steam that you are forming in the

Experiments have been done that allowed water (when used in conjunction with BG) to replace up to 90% of fuel. (see HyZor Support Book Series)

Water Injection
Using water to directly replace a portion of the fuel is a technology that has been around as long as there have been engines powered by fossilfuel. In many cases, when extra performance was needed, like in WW2 aircraft or in farm tractors, the technology was applied on an OEM level. A big objection to water injection is the myth that we'll 'rust' valves and exhaust system. Most people are not aware that the byproducts of perfect combustion of fossil-fuel are carbon dioxide and water. Further, there is quite a bit more water coming out of the engine than the gallons of fuel that went into the engine. 1 gallon of gasoline has the potential to make 8 gallons of water (assuming perfect combustion). Diesel can

There are several technologies that add energy to water which may enhance the electrolysis efficiency. These technologies are discussed in Water as Fuel, Book 1 and in the HyZor Support Book Series.

36

www.eagle-research.com / HyZor Technology Manual

make over 14 gallons of water per gallon of diesel. This is because the hydrogen in the fuel combine with oxygen in the air to make water. Also it has been well proven that water acts as a catalyst to enhance combustion. Water as liquid causes the carbon deposits to flake off the hot components in your engine. A cold drop of water causes the red hot carbon to suddenly contract as it cools. This causes the deposit to break away from the engine and fly out the exhaust. Water can replace the 'extra' fuel used to quench the secondary flame. Up to 50% of the fuel can be replaced by water. This is explained in Extreme Mileage 101. An atomized water mixture (mist) or water as steam applied to the intake air in a manner that applies the water evenly to all cylinders will increase power, clean carbon deposits, stabilize the combustion (higher octane rating) lower pollution and give better economy. The rate of water applied will depend on the engine but generally can be from 1% to 50% of the fuel consumption. Water is best applied in direct ratio to the fuel. The technology is well known to vehicle manufacturers and since it is well proven to be beneficial, one would wonder why it isn't universally applied. We think it is simple economics. It is cheaper to build vehicles without it, and, vehicles are less apt to have problems because no one has to remember to put water in them. In any case, don't ask us why it isn't applied. We put it on our vehicles. Home-built water injection systems are described in Super Gas Saver

Secrets book. Water as Fuel, Book 1 is also a good source for information on this subject.

Clean Water
In theory, any water could be used in the HyZor. However, if there are impurities, the impurities will build up on the plates and in the solution or may come out as toxic, poisonous, corrosive or noxious gasses. Impurities slow down the BG production and make a mess in your HyZor that will have to eventually be cleaned. Buy distilled or deionized water from your local store or Culligan distributor. If you can't buy clean water, buy a water purifier to clean the water. One example is the WATER WIZARD. (see resources) It is important to not allow any contamination, once water is pure. It will pick up air-borne contamination like a sponge soaks up water. So keep it sealed until you are going to use it.

So it may look like you are logged in because you are looking at a page that was cached in your browser when you were logged in, but in reality you are no longer logged in and thus get 'access denied' error messages. Speed tip: stay logged out unless you need to be using one of your user privileges. The website caches the 'general public' pages for quick viewing by anyone but has to build a 'custom' page each time for logged in users. So when you are logged in, the pages will take longer to load. ----------------------------FORGOT YOUR eSTORE PASSCODE? Request a password reset from the the eStore. WHO IS GEORGE WISEMAN

George Wiseman is the founder and president of Eagle-Research, a non-profit organization that develops and distributes energy-saving solutions. He is multi-talented and multi-degreed, but singular in his mission: to promote self-sufficiency at the individual level by discovering and sharing the best, all-around, practical solutions. George attributes his self-reliance, resourcefulness and commitment to our natural environment, to his rural roots. Dad didnt believe in having any equipment on the place (hobby farms in Montana, Oregon, Alaska and finally a ranch in British Columbia) that we couldnt fix ourselves. We had running water if we ran and got it. And electricity was something that came in batteries. His farmgrown, western cowboy philosophy combine well with his inventor persona to create a world-class visionary. He takes the hand-up rather than the hand-out approach to everything. Since 1984, George has been making his living as an inventor and author. His fuel-savers have gained him a worldwide following of satisfied consumers who eagerly pursue his work for new offerings. George continues to impress his customers, peers and competition with practical innovations that can be successfully home-built. His latest product, the ERxxxx WaterTorch, is making great waves in dozens of industries around the globe. As much as anything, its his commitment to patentfree technology development that has earned George Wiseman a champion reputation. Openly sharing research findings benefits everyone by constantly elevating the standards of viable energy solutions. Georges work has been featured on radio and in newspapers around North America and at many alternative energy gatherings including the International Tesla Society Symposiums and Exotic Research Conferences. He lives with his bride, Tenaj, and their brood of cats, in a lush valley of the Rocky Mountains. Individuals wishing to participate in the project may access the required reading list, that will be updated from time-to-time, on the Eagle-Research website: (www.eagle-research.com) Comments and/or contributions are invited from anyone who is committed to cultivating dream seeds. Nay-sayers are better not to waste their time. Negative input will be wholeheartedly disregarded.

Too low they build, who build beneath the stars. - Edward Young -

HyZor Technology
A LEAP IN COMBUSTION ENHANCEMENT TECHNOLOGY JUST ONE OF THE WAYS YOU CAN USE WATER AS FUEL THE FUTURE HAS ARRIVED!
TECHNOLOGY VERIFICATION
For over 50 years international institutions, universities, engineering associations and independent testing labs have been compiling documentation and test results proving that small amounts of hydrogen added to the internal combustion engine significantly reduces toxic emissions, increases engine performance and provides a more complete burn of the fuel. "Hydrogen gas enhances the flame properties of the air-fuel mix and catalyzes the combustion of the Hydrocarbon fuel. Technology with proven success in reducing pollution and harmful emissions while increasing performance and fuel efficiency in diesel and gasoline engines."
- EA-RTH SYSTEMS -

Improving the conversion efficiency of (the world s) motor vehicles by one percent would reduce fuel consumption by one billion gallons (per year).
- Roy McAlister, president of the American Hydrogen Association -

1976, 460 ci, E350 Van. From: 7.28 mpg To: 11.45 mpg. 1987 Oldsmobile, 4 cylinder, 2.5 liter. From: 30.3 mpg To: 46.90 mpg
- Independent testing of AHG units by David J Fontinel -

"I am pleased to write and tell you about my experience with my Detroit Series 60 Diesel and the Automotive Hydrogen Generator...pass almost every truck on hills, fully loaded, with a 365 horsepower engine that acts like a 500 horsepower...Since April we have driven 67,000 miles...My fuel savings are dramatic. (Charts included show mileage go from 6.15 mpg to 13.52 mpg.) It eliminates that black exhaust smoke when I first start the engine or shifting gears...The Hydrogen device should have a dramatic impact on the entire trucking industry. This investment can save truckers thousands of dollars on fuel purchases per year...Every one should have one."
- Jay Goodfriend, after installing Gene Stowe's AHG -.
