Morning Prayer @ 8:30 a.m. – All worship participants gather for prayer each Sunday at 8:30 a.m. As we grow into a house of prayer for all people, you are welcome to join them any Sunday! Calling All Splash Zone Parents! – Please sign up now to provide supervision in the Splash Zone during the summer months. We will be showing some videos so that our emcees can take a break until school starts. We ask that EACH family with children in the ZONE please consider taking one Sunday. (Just one parent is needed each service.) Thank you for your partnership! Journey Group Continues Today – The “Life Liners” is a Journey Group intended for all who wish to increase their spiritual growth through Prayer, Scripture Reading and Fellowship. It meets every Sunday in the large classroom following the 10:45am service. Questions? See Leon Wheeler. SoJ’s Hispanic Ministry – During the summer SoJ’s Hispanic Ministry meets Sundays at 1pm for Bible study, prayer, fellowship meals and special activities for the families. All are welcome! Wednesday Night Live! – There will be no Wednesday Night Live on the 4th of July. It will resume next Wednesday, July 11! New Vision Concert July 13 – New Vision is a group of young adults from Youth Encounter who visited us in October, presenting a concert and providing music at worship. After spending several months ministering in Australia, they are coming back, Friday, July 13 at 7 p.m., to present another concert and share their experiences overseas! All ages will enjoy this special event! Youth Lock-In July 13 – All youth, grades 6-12, are invited to a Lock-In, Friday July 13. It begins with the New Vision Concert at 7pm. After the concert, we will hang out with the New Vision Team and enjoy food, games, more music, and conversation. Bring $2-3 for food and your friends!

Guest Worship Team July 15 – On Sunday morning, July 15, the worship team from the Church of the Great Commission will be leading music in both worship services. You will not want to miss this opportunity to experience the breadth of the church of God. At the same time, our own Joyful Noise will be providing music for the CGC worship services that morning. Women's Book Club – SoJ’s Book Club meets Tuesday, July 17, at 7:15pm to discuss "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen. Call Diane Belk at 407-249-9195 for more info. All women welcome. Congregational Wet ‘n Wild Outing – Since the summer sermon series is entitled Wet ‘n Wild, we thought it would be fun to offer an all-congregation outing to the Wet ‘n Wild water park. Since it’s hard to know people’s schedules during the summer, we identified two Saturday options, July 28th and August 4th. Sign-up at the Welcome Center soon and identify which works best. If both work, indicate that as well and we’ll pick the date preferred by the majority. If we get 15 or more signing up, the rate will be approximately $24 for adults and $20 for children up to 9 years old. First Communion – At SoJ parents decide when their children are ready for communion. A two session class for parents and children will be held this summer. Sign-up at the Welcome Center! Get Acquainted Gathering, August 5 – If you are new to SoJ, a Get Acquainted Gathering will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday August 5th at Pastor Jeff and Patti’s. Enjoy some dessert and conversation with the Linmans and others new to SoJ. Sign up at the Welcome Center soon! Oceanfront Re-Member Your Baptism Celebration August 12 – As the grand finale for our Wet ‘n Wild summer sermon series we are offering a unique opportunity for everyone to affirm and re-member their Baptism, Sunday afternoon, August 12 at 4 p.m. in the Atlantic Ocean adjacent to Steve and Denise Beumer’s condo in Cocoa Beach. Come early to enjoy the beach if you’d like! You may “re-member” in any way you’d like: splashing, diving, or dunking! If you have never been baptized, this would be a great time to do it. Talk to Pastor Jeff soon! After the celebration, we will adjourn to the community room and pool area of the Beumer’s condo, where we will enjoy a potluck cook-out! SoJ Quilters – QUILTERS are now meeting the first Monday of each month. We will meet tomorrow, July 2, at 9:30 a.m. We need volunteers to cut squares and sew backs at home. We were please to send eleven quilts to Burundi. Workers are needed so please join us and plan to go to lunch together. Questions? Call Quaidie Hock at 407-657-8420 or Marsha Call at 321-235-0898. Additional Cleaning Team Volunteers Urgently Needed – SoJ utilizes volunteers to keep our building clean. The Cleaning Team meets for a couple of hours on Thursday mornings and currently needs more helpers to spread the duties around and avoid burn out! PLEASE consider helping out once or twice a month. The fellowship is great and you will help SoJ save money for other aspects of its mission at the same time! Sign-up at the Welcome Center or see Bob Belk. Bicycle Ministry – This unique SoJ ministry provides bicycles to people in need. Volunteers are needed. Meet in the back storage room at 10 a.m. the 2nd Saturday each month, and 10 a.m. Wednesdays. Sign up at the Welcome Center. Questions? Call Will Stevenback: 407-401-1963. Adult Literacy Training – The Adult Literacy League has over forty adults who need help to become functionally literate. The next training session will be August 2 and August 4. If you have 1 ½ hours a week to prepare a lesson, tutor, and enjoy changing a life, this is a great opportunity. Questions? Contact Mitz Oates at 407-277-7916. Monday Ministry Night – Many of our ministry Teams meet Monday, July 9 from 7 to 8:30 pm. This is a great time to get involved with our ministry teams! Congregational Care Team Update – SoJ’s Congregational Care Team is now prepared to provide spiritual, emotional and physical care and assistance for those in need as an extension of the pastoral care currently provided. If you know of someone in the hospital or sick at home, the first step is to call SoJ’s office 407-282-4569 so we know of the need and can respond accordingly through both the pastoral staff and the Congregational Care Team. Don’t assume that we already know! If you’d like to become involved in this ministry, contact Pam Rousseau 407-568-4093 or Marsha Call 407-375-7813. The Team is also looking to start a "transportation" ministry for those that need rides to church or to doctor's appointments. Please bring your empty cartridges and unused cell phones to the Welcome Center and drop them into the appropriate boxes. Thanks for partnering with us in this fundraiser!
Joy Singers – Our adult choir, open to anyone from high school age and up, will be taking a few weeks off, but will resume rehearsals on Wednesdays at 7pm on July 11. Joyful Noise – Our Sunday morning worship team rehearses on Thursdays from 7-9 p.m. We are currently looking for an additional bass player and vocalists. Interested? Contact Phil Greve. Drama Team – SoJ's Drama Team consists of writers and actors who are interested in utilizing their talents in short skits to enhance the worship experience.
