ARCHETYPE GROUP SIGNS CONTRACT FOR BANGKOKS NEW ICONIC MAHANAKHON TOWER
In an exciting move for Archetype Group, we have just confirmed the contract of the prestigious MahaNakhon Tower in Bangkok, which revitalises our presence there and positions us well to sign other projects in Thailand in the future. The MahaNakhon Tower is a striking mixed-use development in the heart of Bangkoks central business district. It features a unique design that introduces a three-dimensional ribbon of architectural pixels circling the towers full height, designed by OMA. At 77 stories, and with a GFA of 135,000m2, the tower will house the Ritz-Carlton Residences, with a mix of two-to-five bedroom homes, and The Bangkok Edition Hotel, which will offer a range of outstanding amenities. The top of the tower houses a multilevel, three-floor Terrace Bar & Restaurant with dramatic double-height spaces, private dining facilities for entertaining, and a rooftop outdoor bar with sweeping 360 views of the skyline and river, 310 metres above the city. Our scope on this exciting project is Project Management and Construction Management, and once completed, Mahanakhon will be the highest tower in Thailand.

...AND SIGNS FIRST PROJECT IN INDONESIA

Following the establishment of our representative office in Indonesia early this year, Archetype has just signed our first project there the Pullman Bali Legian Nirwana. Our scope on this project is Technical Due Diligence. Set in tranquil surroundings opposite the famous Legian Beach, Pullman Bali Legian Nirwana is the newest 5-star hotel in Kuta. Close to Ngurah Rai International Airport, the resort has easy access to the heart of Balis shopping, nightlife and recreation areas. Its 353 impeccable rooms and suites feature a modern design inspired by the frangipani tree. Pullman Bali Legian Nirwana has a range of leisure facilities including three bars, various restaurants, three swimming pools and the modern Tjakra-7 Spa. It also features a Kids Club and Fitness Centre. This is a significant project for Archetype as hospitality is one of the fastest growing sectors in the construction industry in Indonesia. It also allows us to continue and extend our relationship with Accor, with whom we have done significant work in India, Vietnam and Cambodia.

BUILDING ON INDUSTRIAL SECTOR GROWTH IN INDOCHINA

2012 is shaping up to be a great year for securing industrial projects for Archetype Group, with an exceptional number of contracts signed in Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos already this year. Archetypes success in this sector in 2012 began with the award of a contract for the concept design of the Gemalink container terminal, on a 33ha site in Vung Tau. This was followed by two major contracts for turnkey consulting in Cambodia the Laurelton and Crown factories. Laurelton is a 12,000m2 diamond polishing plant in Phnom Penh and Crown is an aluminium can manufacturing factory in Sihanoukville of 16,000m2. Shortly after, Archetype Vietnam signed a project management/cost management contract for an 8,000m2 technical facility for Italian company, Danieli, and a project management/construction management contract for a 6000m2 Vinamilk processing plant, commissioned by Shaeffer Noel GmBH from Germany. Recently, we have signed contracts for turnkey consulting on a 22,000m2 factory in Vietnam for Ariston, an Italian company specializing in boilers and water heaters, as well as a contract for the design and cost management of a 6ha Essilor factory in Laos, which is a French company that manufactures glass for eyewear. Essilor is also the largest project weve signed in Laos to date. Even as the year starts to wind down, our work on securing industrial projects throughout the region continues and we expect to sign at least five more projects by the end of the year.

ARCHETYPE GROUP TURNS 10 YEARS OLD!

This month marks the 10th year of business for Archetype Group. With humble beginnings in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 2002, the Cambodia office followed in 2003. From there an office was opened in Thailand in 2004, then in India in 2005, France in 2006, Dubai in 2008 (which was later closed due to the financial crisis), to Laos in 2009, Mongolia in 2010, Qatar in 2011 and this year we opened offices in Indonesia and Myanmar. Other interesting facts about the incredible growth of Archetype over these past 10 years: From a start-up company of eight employees (seven in Hanoi and one in HCMC), Archetype has grown to more than 400 employees comprising 21 different nationalities. Archetype has expanded from one office in 2002 to 14 offices in 10 countries in 2012. With foundations in architecture, Archetype is now a highly regarded multidisciplinary consultancy for architecture, engineering, planning, cost management, environment and project management. Our reference portfolio consisted of 5 projects in 2002 and now counts more than 400. In the past 5 years, Archetype Group has been ranked as one of the Top 100 architecture firms in the world, and in the Top 10 of firms in Australasia.

We have a lot to be proud of, and on 18 September, 2012, we celebrated our achievements with a cocktail party for our clients from Vietnam and Cambodia at the famous Bitexco Tower in Ho Chi Minh City.
