From: Usama Hasan Date: Wednesday, 20 March 2013 Subject: CONFIDENTIAL: Open letter to a preacher of hate To: Usama

Hasan <usama.hasan@quilliamfoundation.org> Dear all, As-salamu alaykum. I hope you are very well. This is to urgently request you to sign the attached, open letter to Haitham al-Haddad, whether officially or in your personal capacity (I may do so personally too, if you advise that). Suggested amendments to the letter are, of course, welcome. Fuller extracts from some of the inflammatory sermons are also attached, for reference. There is more information here, all of which looks accurate to me after checking it closely: http://theislamicfarrightinbritain.wordpress.com/haitham-al-haddad-2/ Id need your agreement by *Friday morning * if appropriate. The aim is to get coverage in a major national newspaper over the weekend, with the following objectives: (i) Embarrass the University of Nottingham, who are hosting some hate-preachers the following weekend: http://www.familyretreat.co.uk/speakers/ (ii) Keep up the pressure on Haddad & his students & associated groups such as iERA a number of their campus & public events have been cancelled over the past few years due to this kind of public pressure. We cannot allow hate & extremism to flourish in our midst. Your duas & advice will be greatly appreciated, as well as suggestions for further signatories. Please remember that this email is strictly confidential. Many thanks, Usama Hasan Senior Researcher (Islamic Studies)
