Pilbara resident and Local Councillor Peter Foster seeks selection to represent Labor and Western Australia in the Senate.

Tom Price resident Peter Foster has nominated seeking selection to represent Labor and Western Australia in the Senate. Applications with the State Executive closed on Monday 25th March 2013. Peter has nominated for both the casual vacancy created by the resignation of Senator Chris Evans, and also for pre-selection for positions one, two and three on the Labor Senate ticket in the upcoming September 2013 Federal Election. Peter has lived in the Pilbara for five years, two of those serving as a Councillor with the Shire of Ashburton. Peter Foster has been a Labor Party member for two years. Peter has a Bachelor of Arts degree, Politics major, which he studied at the University of Newcastle in New South Wales. Peter grew up in the Hunter Valley, was born and schooled in Kurri Kurri, NSW. He matriculated with honours from Kurri Kurri High School in 1997. Peter is in a committed same-sex relationship with his partner Sam, of ten years. Peter is a member of the Community and Public Sector Union of Western Australia. Peter has worked in the Public Service for twelve years, five of those in Western Australia.

Peter holds various positions within the Tom Price community including: Chairperson, Tom Price & Paraburdoo Youth Association; Board Member, Tom Price North Primary School (Independent School Board) Committee Member, Nameless Jarndunmunha Festival. He is also looking forward to the potential commitment of representing the Pilbara's interests. Peter openly supports Marriage Equality. in the Senate. Peter is environmentally aware and is supportive of innovative technology to reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption. Education Reforms.
