Technical Troubleshooting Guide
The Who, Where, Why, When and How for finding help with technical issues online and in the classroom.
Yes, many of us have been there. Now that the entire class is watching you, you can't log into an account, or you can't get the volume to turn on for a video on the projector, or, well, fill in the blank! Although faces have been changing on campus, the procedure for getting help is the same. "What is that procedure" you ask? Well, the whole procedure revolves around the Local Help Desk found in room 325. The Help Desk is designed to be the first stop in resolving technical issues on campus and online.

The Ivy Tech Multimedia Portal
The new state-wide home for your online media files!
Do you use images, audio or video in Blackboard or on Campus Connect? There is a new resource in place for Ivy Tech Faculty and Staff for storing, managing, posting and viewing images, audio and video files online! This new multimedia portal works independent of our Blackboard and Campus Connect systems, so if there are issues with either, media is still accessible and distributable. It also allows courses within Blackboard to be lighter and more manageable by avoiding the muck of too much embedded media. On top of that, viewing of the media is imporved since the media is being streamed from a dedicated media server. Every instructor and staff member has an account they can post media to. By following the link at the bottom of the page and using your usual username and password, you can access this powerful resource. Students can also enter the portal to view media associated with the courses in which they are enrolled. All media can be made available by date, just like Blackboard. Have questions? Click on the Help tab within the portal to view the FAQ and view a tour video, along with a tutorial on how to post and embed media produced by our own eMedia Center. The eMedia Center is also working with Central Office on further development of this resource! Pay it a visit and feel free to contact the eMedia Center with any questions you may have on its use within Blackboard and the benefits and headache-saving qualities of this new and long-awaited resource!
