GILLIBRAND REPORT: NEW YORK DAIRY FARMS LOST NEARLY 65,000

COWS IN 10-YEAR SPAN
Dairy farms across New York State lost nearly 65,000 cows from 2002 to 2012, according to USDA
data, due to the loss of business from flawed dairy policy. To give New York dairy farmers the certainty
and stability they need for a growing business, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is pushing strong,
bipartisan reforms as part of the Farm Bill the Senate is set to consider in the coming weeks.
