New Year's Eve - Sunday 31st December 2006

Enjoy your last breakfast of 2006 in the convivial surroundings of the Bay Restaurant whilst admiring the spectacular vista. The day is free for you to discover, or to re-visit, the many delights that the Lake District has to offer. Your host, Jon, will be walking around the local area for the last time in 2006 and will welcome your company. Other activities could include a complimentary cruise on Lake Windermere; the steamers depart from the pier a minutes walk from the hotel. However you spend the day, return to the Waterhead in time for afternoon tea, served in one of our lounges. Then its time to prepare for the evenings festivities. Dress is formal this evening (black tie preferred, but by no means obligatory). From 7-30pm we invite you into the restaurant to savour Gerards six course gourmet dinner. The dancing continues after the melodic renditions of Auld Lang Syne have welcomed in 2007!

Christmas Day - Monday 25th December 2006

Our chimneys have been cleaned in anticipation of a seasonal visitor. Will he still be here to wish you a Happy Christmas as you savour a glass or two of Bucks Fizz prior to a full Lakeland breakfast? Following breakfast, theres two or three hours prior to the traditional main festive meal of the day, so why not give those boots an airing and enjoy some stimulating and invigorating Lakeland air either on your own or with our local guide (who may look incredibly like your host, Jon). Youll now have space for our sumptuous four course traditional Christmas Day lunch, served with all the trimmings. Despite the fact, that nobody ever says they have any room left for it, we still insist on offering tea and Christmas cake during the afternoon. At 6-30pm join us again as we welcome the South Lakes Handbell Ringers who will enchant us with their melodic and seasonal renditions. As they wend their merry way, we invite you to partake in our fabulous Gala Buffet. A drink or two in one of our sitting areas overlooking Lake Windermere or the bar will round off a memorable Christmas.

New Year's Day - Monday 1st January 2007

Relax and start your day the lazy way with a well-earned lie-in. Since we anticipate that some of the late night revellers may not relish a 7-30am breakfast, we will serve brunch from 9-00am until midday. For those of you wanting some fresh Lakeland air to revitalise you after the exuberances of the previous night, why not take your complimentary Lakeland cruise today? Back at the Waterhead, afternoon tea once again, will be served in the bar or one of our lounges. Meanwhile, Gerard and his team will be as ever busy in the kitchen preparing another gourmet four course dinner with which to tantalise your tastebuds. Following this, play your cards right and you could be a winner in our fun casino where you can enjoy all the excitement of the real thing without losing your shirt or having to do the washing up!

Boxing Day - Tuesday 26th December 2006

Relax and enjoy a well-earned lie-in! Since we felt that you may be a tad full after the exertions of yesterday, brunch will be served until 11.30am.
