2nd time internal costing is done just before production starts. This study taught me how to do the costing & main components of costing. 1st time it is done by estimating the consumption of fabric multiplied with the cost of fabric. As my course is all about fashion & textile merchandising in which costing plays an important role. In export house costing is done twice. This cost is sent to the buyer for the approval. This study was done to understand the importance and the concept of costing in the textile & apparel industry. in this actual consumption of fabric and trims. number of trims used in the garment multiplied by cost of the same. 6 . This is possible by analyzing actual cost of materials used in the style with the extra percentage taken on the actual cost compared to estimated cost of materials which is sent to buyer in terms of costing for getting the order. CMT and overheads is calculated because the 1 st time when costing is done margins are taken in that. This study is all about costing and process of doing costing for the garment. This will help export house to look up in the departments which are less productivity. Every merchandiser should know the process of costing & also method by which costing is done.EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This study is based on costing in textile & apparel industry. so after second costing is done it is compared with the 1st costing from which company gets to know how much profit it is earning and also gets which department is more productive in nature. then cost of CMT (Cut Make Trim) and overheads. And also points which should keep in mind while doing costing of the garment. and will help us to know which department in the export house is more productive & does minimum wastage in terms of money and raw material. In export house each minute is the cost for the company so it is very important for them to manage time to reduce cost of production which will in turn help them to generate more profit from the order.
7 . that will be done by comparing the estimated cost & actual cost of production. trims. This project will suggest in finding out the wastage of the materials (fabric. This will also help merchandiser to stress on the department which is less productivity which will help them to increase productivity & usage of materials properly. It will also help to calculate the extra profit which company can make by shipping extra which can be made by reducing wastage. and expenses) which would have helped to make additional profit if these wasted elements would have been used appropriately. and also will help to find out productivity level of each department.
