In Adobe Photoshop, I used the magnetic lasso tool and the quick select tool to cut out my image for the textwrapping. I then refined the edges just slightly before inserting it into my InDesign document. I created the logo for my design using the text and pencil tools, making a simple brush stroke with the pencil and using one of my favorite fonts, Neou Thin. which fonts and colors I wanted to use. Everlane keeps a very clean and modern look to their website, and I wanted to reflect that in this brochure. I created repetition and flow, by keeping a consistent color scheme and elements.

Apply basic design principles, incorporate basic InDesign skills, and create a flier

using images provided. (The images from this project were supplied to me). From the sketches that I drew before this project, I was able to create the following design using Adobe InDesign. I used a clean, modern font for the heading to catch the readers attention and then followed it with a font that is much more likely to be familiar to the eye. I practiced repetition through black boxes, emphasized the word Graduate in the title with a bold version of the font used in the rest of the header, and utilized white space despite the natural urge I had to fill it.

To create the first logo, I used the ellipse tool to create the vinyl record. I then used the pencil tool, with the art brush stroke, and pulled it down from the record to make trails and dots. The rest of the logo is elements of typography, which I manipulated slightly in size to fit. The other logos are also just elements of typography, with colors and size manipulated.

Adobe Photoshop To create a montage image using two or more images and Adobe Photoshop.

I then began the project by resizing the background image to 8.5 by 11, then rotating the image of the wall so that the lighter end (originally the top) became the bottom. I chose to do this because my second image is so light and would contrast with the darker side of the image better. From there, I drew a lasso around only the mountain and cloud portion of the second image and dragged it into the first. I then applied a mask and softened the hard edges with 100% opacity/flow. Next, I used 30% opacity/flow on all other parts of the image until it faded in a way I desired. I found spots I liked (like the big cracks in the wall) and used white on 75% opacity/flow to emphasize them more within the image of the clouds and mountain. Finally, I chose an inspiring quote by John Lubbock that corresponded fairly well with my image and pasted it into my Photoshop file, coloring it white and the text effect outer glow.

Adobe Illustrator and InDesign Create a business card with letterhead using Adobe InDesign and Illustrator that will

represent the company well. I began by making a logo in InDesign. Using an image of vintage typewriter keys from the Internet, I traced them with the pen tool and used them as the starting letters for the brands name. I then used the same font in the center of the keys (American Typewriter) to finish them off in their respective colors. I then arranged the logo onto the business card and used a color scheme that I knew corresponded well to bring the design together. I added small triangles that faced different directions to add a touch of organization and uniqueness. Finally, I repeated elements of each throughout the letterhead as well as the business card to create consistency and familiarity.

Adobe InDesign and Illustrator Create a professional letterhead that would correspond with the business card/company.

I began by pulling elements from the business card into the letterhead, using corresponding colors, shapes, and the logo. I then created a slogan for the company and put it within the bottom margins. The margins that I created on the sides were to keep the writing of the person using this stationary uniform and neat.

To use TextWrangler and Photoshop to adequately design CSS and HTML that would come together to create a clean webpage. I used just TextWrangler for the bulk of this project, and found the way it worked to be really interesting. I was also very proud of my efforts and was able to see that coding is not as difficult as one might think. I changed font colors to match that of my logo and used font types that I thought went well together. I also typed up a blurb about my mock company before explaining my logo process briefly, and the whole post came out to 150 words. Overall, I was pleased with my result and will use this method again when possible.

Adobe Photoshop To take my own photograph using the rule of thirds and good lighting, then to move

that image into Photoshop and add a filter. After taking the photo and following the tutorials available to us, I selected the flowers only using the Magic Wand tool. I adjusted (+ or -) as was needed to make sure every petal was included. I then inversed my selection and desaturated the background completely. After that, I added a blue tint to the image using the colorize tool. The Paint Daubs filter was then added just slightly.

I scanned the image and inserted it into my word document. After that, I chose fonts and used the color picker to apply the same color of the cakes frosting to the header text. After that, I drew a rectangle shape and added smaller, more narrow rectangles inside of it. These rectangles are the color of the cake frosting and the color of the cake itself.
