Oakland North Hyperlocal News Website, Oakland, California August 2011 to Present Reporter  Covered the Oakland Unified School District, attended school board meetings, wrote features and hard news stories about schools in the district.  Worked on special coverage of Occupy Oakland as an on-site reporter covering the demonstration and encampment. I was responsible for live tweeting, writing stories, taking photos, and producing videos during multiple police raids, marches, and protests. During Occupy Oakland, the site’s Twitter followers nearly doubled.
