A Student Council Event
Hello and welcome! You are one step closer to becoming an Olympic team participant. However, there are a few things that we need to go over before we get started. If possible, please review this packet with your group so that you can fill it out accordingly. After you are done filling it out, please give this packet and money to Mr. Kempf (Room 1124) or Mrs. Davison (Room W24) by FRIDAY, APRIL 19th so that we can get started right away. Things you will need: • A group of 8 people to be on your team • A team name • Money o $10.00 per Person = $80.00 per team o Can be paid individually with Cash or a combined Check heck to HHS StuCo o If paid in Cash, put money in an envelope with your team name on it o If paid in Check, put check in an envelope with your team name on the memo line AND on the envelope
We will be having an opening ceremony for all participants. You will need to have a team flag. Choose one of the templates to sketch your flag. Make sure you turn in this sketch, but also keep a copy for your own record. Also, you will need to have team shirts. Everyone on the team will ll wear the same, SOLID COLORED shirt. There should be no variance in shade. Please email Stephanie Kominiak, email@example.com firstname.lastname@example.org, , indicating the SPECIFIC color you want: For example, DO NOT write blue. Specify whether the color is sky blue, navy, etc.

Also, please be sure to write your team name on your shirts. If y you ou are participating for a club/sport, /sport, you may wear your team shirt. Just send Stephanie an email indicating that you will be wearing your team shirt.
PLEASE NOTE: FRIDAY, MAY 17TH WILL BE A HALF DAY FOR ALL OLYMPICS PARTICIPANTS. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO MAKE UP ALL SCHOOL WORK IN ACCORDANCE TO THE HHS STUDENT HANDBOOK (2012-2013). 2013). Note: If you have applied for Link Crew, the May Development Day is on the same day of the Olympics. You will still be able to participate in BOTH. Just make sure you email Parth Patel, email@example.com with your name along with your team name and an explanation of the situation situation. Also, if you want to participate in the Olympics, but you cannot find eight friends to participate with, please email Parth Patel and he will make a team for you, or put you in a team with others. Oath of Allegiance: We, the team of _______________________ ______________________________ (team name) will make all efforts to come to the HHS Olympic Games on May 17th, 2013 and if we do not cancel our participation prior to May 6th, then we must pay $25 5 as a team to HHS StuCo. StuCo The original $80.00 will not be refunded. Also, any violation of HHS Student Handbook rules will result in complete removal from participation in the games, and the $80.00 will NOT be refunded. I understand that the HHS Student Council, nor Huntley High School, is responsible for any injuries resulting from participating in these events. If you are representing a group of friends, contact Aesha Talia. Do I have to make my own shirt and flag for the Olympics? Yes, each member of the team has to make their own shirt. As long as there is a solid colored background, anything school appropriate can go on the shirt. You will only need to make one flag for the team. Will I be participating in all of the games listed above? This depends on the number of teams eams there are competing in total. You will get a list of events that you will participate either on the facebook page, by school email, or by school messaging. How do prizes work? Depending on the number of teams that participate, a certain amount of money ney will go to the charity of your choice, or the sport/club. The winners will also get medals and gift cards to local eateries. If I’m hungry and I get out of school on a half day, what do I eat? Bring some money, because we will be inviting local businesses so that participants have food. Also, food will be available for a limited time only, so make sure you being snacks! What if I cannot pay for the Olympics? If you are on the free/reduced lunch program, please contact Mr. Kempf, email@example.com, , so that he may waive your fee for the Olympics. At the beginning of the Olympics, you will be dismissed to go to the track for the opening ceremony.
