SAN DIEGO IS GROWING— HELP US PLAN FOR THE FUTURE RESPONSIBLY
Over the next 40 years, the San Diego region is expected to grow exponentially. We’ll need to accommodate an additional 1.3 million residents, 400,000 housing units, and 500,000 jobs —and all of the basic services that come with a growing economy. To do this, we must focus on innovative solutions and an urban core that will allow us to accommodate this expected growth, and house and employ thousands of San Diegans. Because there are no more land tracks for which we can expand, we must go vertical. Our very own Downtown San Diego has the ability to do just that. In concert with the San Diego Foundation’s Our Greater San Diego Vision, the Downtown San Diego Partnership has embarked on a planning vision: “Our Downtown.” This effort will develop a vision, framework, and action plan to advance our downtown —and ultimately—the Greater San Diego Region. Why a regional effort? Because this growth will impact the entire region, it’s important to spark regional collaboration and engagement as we begin to further define our region's priorities. Downtown San Diego belongs to everyone--and as we work to improve our downtown for expected growth, we're looking for regional input. Interactive Workshop Agenda Items:  Our Greater San Diego Vision Update  Preparing for the Future of San Diego  Accommodating Expected Growth & Why Downtown Matters  The Planning Process & Action Plan Moving Forward San Diego is growing. Let’s plan responsibly together! To reserve a space in an upcoming town hall, please contact Jared Emmitt at the Downtown San Diego Partnership at (619) 234-0201 or jemmitt@downtownsandiego.org.
