We already have enrollments for several classes and anticipate that some will fill as early as May. The Summer Term brochure with details is attached and also is available on our website. Coming soon--New dance levels beginning with Fall 2013
You may have noticed that summer class levels have slightly different names and are primarily age-based. Based on the increasing skills of our students, our dance levels and requirements will be slightly modified for Academic Year 2013-2014 to provide both the necessary foundations and the challenge that will enable our students to progress even further in their dance skill. Additional information will be available soon to assist you with planning for the fall. Remember that unlike some other local studios and recreational programs, at Contempo, we focus on teaching our students how to dance, emphasizing correct form, technique, and vocabulary, rather than just teaching them a routine so that they can be on stage. Like music, dance is a discipline that requires regular class attendance, review and practice at home, and constant effort to make each attempt better than the previous one. Learning to dance correctly is not easy, but it is fun and confers the amazing benefits of confidence, self-esteem, and satisfaction of working persistently to achieve a goal.

Please see attachment for performance order and music information (to help with practice at home). DVD's must be ordered in advance, with $25 cash or check payable to "Classic Media Productions." Costumes will be distributed in class as students finish learning their choreography, beginning next week. Tickets--$8/adults $5/children--available for advance purchase at the studio beginning May 13th. As with "Nutcracker Sweets," purchasers must request specific days (Friday or Saturday) when purchasing tickets. Dancers do not need tickets as they will not be watching the performances. Dancers will see the dress rehearsal and DVD (optional). Volunteers--Yes, we need you! We have hired a production assistant who will assign specific tasks to volunteers on show days and coordinate pre-recital tasks. o Our most critical need is for female room monitors who will supervise various activities for the students while they wait, and will assist students with costume changes. Room monitors can work one performance and get one free ticket AND advance seating for themselves and their families for the other performance. o We need just a few front-end volunteers (male or female) to usher and take tickets. Front-end volunteers get one complimentary ticket for the day they work, but will not have advance seating. To volunteer, please send an email with your available days (Friday and/or Saturday) ASAP to firstname.lastname@example.org so that our production assistant can fill the volunteer roles. Thank you!!!
