SOFTWARE

Get a description on the interesting software like Spy Dawn, Fraps, Irfan and more.. For Image thanks to Flickr.com

Dawn Of New Spy
Beware fellas!!! Agent Spyware is out on the prowl. This agent though is a smart one.Pretending to be a friend,he is a Devil in disguise. Say hello My dear friends to MR. SPYDAWN.Well the other day I was watching an online video, when the online media-player displayed a message to update some activex controls(?).The website gave a link from wherein I had to download a piece of this particular activex.I dont seem to remember as to when did I download another software…a particular SPYDAWN Anti Virus Tool which protects your Pc from all possible Viral Infections. The next day My Pc was infected by….hold your breathe……28 virus threats!!!!!! .To any lay man this software–spydawn is a Genius….detects 28 unknown viral threats!!!Now the online websources seem to suggest something else to me. This software Spydawn is not an Anti-Virus Tools as it might seem to you at first sight. It is a virus which belongs to the Smitfraud Category of Trojans.Reported by bleeping computer as the latest one in its category,it is a Fake-AntiVirus program.

Modus Operandi: Well the basics are as follows. There are some (not all) online video-hosting websites which send you an error message that you need to download an activex control to be able to view that content. They redirect you to downloading these malwares(which pose as some usefull softwares).Once u download and install them, the show begins.Regular messages displayed on the system tray, unnecesarry redirection to the website are frequent. If you download this software,it acts like any normal anti-Virus tool. After scanning the system it reports VIRUSES installed on your PC which actually do not exist!!! Some Suspicious Activities: 1) Well the first one would be that it scans the entire system(mine contains 3 hard disks) within a few seconds. 2) Always displays 28 viral-threats .

3) There are numerous messages diplayed by the system tray some of the being “Security Alert-Networm virus “,”The virus attempts to steal passwords and private info”,”PC speed decreased by 47%,Internet speed decreased by 39%” 4)The system tray always diplays the same message ….does my Pc speed always gotta decrease by 47%….i mean cant it be 46.89% or something….or maybe some other figure…say 78%….grow up kid………………

Who makes these software’s I do not know, but one thing is sure…If you got spydawn on your Pc…..you gotta get moving Mac! Remove it as early as you can. The net has many SPYDAWN-removal tools you can use…..but you need to be alert….you never know ….maybe you end up installing another SPYDAWN on the pc!!!! How to remove SPYDAWN from your PC, How does the software access your system tray, How to stay secure …….well that makes up for another Article…..Keep checking this space for more.

Experience All New Irfan View
Got bored of using the same old image viewer? Here comes a image viewer with the all the loads of features. This is the Irfan Viewer with its latest version 3.99 This software is developed for supporting large number of graphic files that many of the image viewers don’t like the .sgi and sif formats. It also supports the audio file formats such as MP3, OGG and WMA and video formats such as WMV, Mov and AVI which other image viewers usually don’t. Some of its good features are PDF export, zooming and scrolling in the slide show mode. This software has good user accessibility as it has many hotkeys enabled within it.You need many plug-ins, but not to worry you can easily download the plug-ins from here

Let’s Frap It!!
Well you played the game, now you want others to have a look at your skills. Not To Worry!!!! We have Fraps to aid you in capturing those priceless moments .Fraps lets you capture real-time in-game videos .It supports various directx and opengl compatible games .The versions I tested were v1.9, v2.21, v2.82. HOW DO I RUN IT? Start the Fraps (either form the short-cut placed on desktop or from C:/FRAPS/fraps.exe).It runs in the background. If necessary adjust the settings.Start the game.Whenever you want to start using fraps use the appropriate Hot Key.All of them offer you in-game screenshot capture feature.Version 2.82 is more sleek and having a better appearence. As soon as you start the program,an icon runs on the taskbar. There are options for settings as well as viewing the captured movies and screenshots. In the settings option you can set your own HOT-keys .These hot-keys are used to activate the program when a game is running. Default Hot-Keys:F9—–Video Capture F10—-Image Capture F11—-Overlay Mode Display F12—-Benchmark toggle

For captured images you have choice between JPG,BMP,PNG,TGA formats. However the videos can be stored only in .avi format.also the Videos are so huge in size for eg: a 2min video occupies over 1GB+ space. Now thats a strict no-no for guys like me with limited disc space. Versions 1.9 ,2.21 were not as good looking, but the features are very much the same. Also a thing I didnt like about of them was that the frame-rate was being displayed as a water-mark over the video, which ruins the show.Maybe I didnt get to know how to remove that,If some one knows please feel free to comment. Thumbs Up: Well now you can save that unique stunt you performed or maybe a secret place you dicovered in the game,or maybe create a walkthrough for that Tough Mission you just cleared. Thumbs Down: No choice for video extensions other than .AVI, Water-mark of the Frame-rate remains on the clip. Einsty Rates: 8/10

Is Vista Secure Enough??
The security system in windows XP was enhanced after the introduction of its service pack 2.Many security systems built into vista are much more secure than XP. Let me introduce to some of its security features. User account control (UAC): Previously in XP users use to set up administrator accounts in order to make changes in the system settings, applications, software updates, etc.., but this is not quite safe ! so Microsoft has come up with UAC in which users have limited capabilities and cannot perform any administrative tasks, for doing so he/she has to authenticate himself by providing a password. Windows defender: Vista gives a round – the clock protection by providing integrated anti-spy ware and anti-malware solution that works largely in the background. Time limits: With the vista you can set time limits for a particular user i.e. you can block out the time periods during which they can and cannot log on and use the system. This is done via a simple hourly grid system which is very easy to set up. Games: Vista integrates with the ESRB game ratings to help you allow and block all games based on their content. Or, you can choose to block all games automatically or set up white and black lists of allowed and blocked games. USB device lockdown: One of the good security enhancement in vista is that it can prevent users from connecting they USB mass storage device like an external hard drive, pen drive, etc. This feature is basically targeted towards businesses to ensure confidentiality of data.

Patch guard: All newer processors by Intel as well as AMD provide a hardware based security feature on the processor itselfknown as the NX bit. Vista has taken the advantage of this feature by including the kernel patch protection also called the patch guard, which prevents alternations to the vista kernel at runtime.

Vista Promising Video Updates…
With the launch of Microsoft’s new operating system windows vista a new generation of graphics is defined. This will support for the upgrades of richly developed games, a better look and more useful desktop applications. All this graphics support comes from the DirectX 10.0 a package of graphic tools. From this the gamers will the get the most out of it also the applications can now have more of animation and visual effects without hindering the speed of your pc.This DX 10 is more CPU- friendly and with less processing overhead. Off The Hook - DeskPins
Do you run many programs at a time on your pc? Are you tired of ‘ALT + Tab ‘ ing to switch between programs all the time? Hey,take a look—-DeskPins is there for you.

As the name suggests,Deskpins helps you to ‘PIN’ windows to the Desktop.Your pinned Window will no longer get minimised even if you switch to another window. The window will always remain on top.

Thus you would be able to easily run many programs simultaneously. You can easily keep the top priority program(window) at the top.

Microsoft Lost backward compatibility Religion!!
The making of Visual basic.net made Microsoft loose the backwards compatibility religion as it was not compatible with the older version that is the visual basic 6.0.But seeing this inside Microsoft, the MSDN magazine took place and let overcome this ambiguity and now it was ok to change things. As the IIS 6.0 came out some of the customers using the windows 2003 server got a problem running some of the applications this was because the .net framework 1.1 was not compatible with the .net 1.0 Now it was the time for Microsoft to change something and it was the most famous API of windows that is the Win32 so instead of making changes they decided to entirely replace it. The newly replaced windows API are the WinFX: the next generation Windows API. All different. Based on .NET with managed code XAML Avalon. Yes, vastly superior to Win32, I admit it. But not an upgrade: a break with the past For more on WinFx visit: “http://www.ondotnet.com/pub/a/dotnet/2003/11/24/longhorn_01.htm”

HARDWARE

This section have lot’s to dig up and learn, OxyGyan members are little low at this section, but are advancing. Check in the dwindling theory of Moore’s Law and a solution to Hard Drive Recording. For Image thanks to Flickr.com

Moore’s Law on Course
Did you know that ‘Moore’s Law which postulated that the number of transistors on a chip will roughly double every 18 to 24 months, faced a major barrier- power leakage? Not anymore. By the use of materials termed “high-k”, IBM and Intel have said in early 2007 that they have set Moore’s law valid for atleast 6 years. The development means continued shrinking of computer chips. The new Intel processors, codenamed Penryn, will pack more than four hundred million transistors into a chip half the size of a postage stamp. Processors will have transistors with features just 45 nanometres (billionth of a metre) wide, having broken the 65 nanometres roadblock. Moore’s theory has held true until the 1990s, when chip producers started to make a hard choice between energy efficiency and cost. To be cost effective, it was observed that more transistors a chip contained power leakage escalated. Past 65nm the silicon used to manufacture critical switch element, known as gate dielectrics, no longer performs as it does at larger scales. As a result, currents passing through the transistors leak and reduce the effectiveness of the chip. As computer chips have grown smaller and more compact, chip designers and manufacturers had feared that the increased cost and lack of energy efficiency would mean the end of Moore’s Law. The Remedy: The new Intel and IBM designs are both based on the use of a metallic material known as “high-K.” To prevent power leakage, researchers have had to develop new materials to contain the current at very small scales (45 nm) based on the metal hafnium. The silicon substitutes are known as high-k materials. High-K refers to their greater ability to store electrical charge compared with silicon. The new metal will be used to build transistor gate dielectrics. Transistors are the tiny switches that are used to sort out the series of ones and zeros that are the foundation of modern computers. The gate shuts the transistor on and off and the gate dielectric, underneath the gate, insulates it by separating it from the channel where current flows.Unlike silicon, the substance of choice for four decades, building the insulating walls and switching gates of transistors out of the new metal significantly reduces power leakage. The high-K metal gate technology combines the use of high-K for gate dielectrics with a new combination of metal materials to build the transistor gate electrode.

So hold your breath. The battle for the smallest and most efficient chip just got more intense than it ever was.

An Alternate Solution To Hard Drive Recording
Since the launch of the hard disk drives it has been very popular in the computer industry from saving people to loose their valuable data. But has anyone ever taught about the technology used beneath the working of the so called hard drive. Like with every good thing there is a bad thing associated with it, the same way along with the advantages of the hard drives there exists some of the limitations with the working of the hard disk. Limitations of the current generation hard drives: The storage capacity of any hard drive is dependent upon the “area density”. By area density I mean that how many bits of data can be recorded in a given area of disk real estate. The rate at which the area density is growing is becoming limited due to a fundamental limit in magnetic recording technology known as the “super paramagnetic effect”. The fact that related this limit is that the magnetic material on the disk surface is made up of various minute particles. Because of the randomness of size and shapes, each bit written on the disk must cover 100 such small magnets in order to store the data reliably. If the sizes of these magnets are lowered then it is quite possible that they lose their “magnetic orientation” (the side that is magnetic south may become magnetic north or vice versa.). This may happen due to excitation because of the heat developed inside the drive or may be also because of the room temperature. This heating restricts the head from reading the bit correctly i.e. 0 or 1 which leads to a data loss. Now you must be wondering about the limitation, but technology has a break for everything and a alternate to this the “perpendicular recording” technique. Advantages of perpendicular recording: This offers 10 times the storage density of longitudinal recording; on the same recording media i.e. you get more storage space and faster drives. This means the newer hard drives with perpendicular recording will be able to deliver to the range of terabit and above in terms of sheer storage capacities.

If you have a scanned photo of your parents as bride and groom, insert it into the cell to the left. Or you can paste a photo on the page after printing. 2000 Language to Code
Let me begin by showing you this wonderful page that enlist the 2189 programming language. This 2189 languages are the crack behind the development of computer and it’s alias. Let’s revise what is programming language? Programming Language serve as the coordinator between the developer and the computer. On my part I will say that the programming language allows the developer to put the logical real world actions into operations that can be performed on the computer hardware. Edsger Dijkstra asks… “Are you quite sure that all those bells and whistles, all those wonderful facilities of your so called powerful programming languages, belong to the solution set rather than the problem set” From the first generation machine code programming we have moved toward the latest GUI enabled Visual Studio 2005, Java, oracle and lots more. Non-Procedural language, artificial intelligence language, codegeneration language and object oriented programming language are supposed to stand in the fourth generation list. During the change of generations lots and lots of languages were developed. But we all have learned just bunch of languages, and are familiar with about 20-50 different languages. So to broaden our historical knowledge I have come up with this wonderful list. Also the development in programming language can’t be stopped because… “The limits of your language are the limits of your world” as said by L. Wittgenstein and we don’t want to limit world and hence keep increasing the list length. For furthur reference: Google Directory Listing • • Computer Language TimeLine • Alphabetic List of Programming Language Note: List given at the beginning of the article, was documented late back, hence it doesn’t include the latest programming language like Java, Visual Basic and lot’s more. Programming Languages On Time Line
Almost a month ago, I had put my words about the existence of more than 2000 programming languages. To add to that here is the excellent time line showing programming languages from November 1954 to December 2006. It shows the step by step development of the various versions of the languages like Python, COBOL, PHP, Java, Perl, FORTRAN and more. The time line although not viewable properly, stand as amazing visual aid in understanding the evolution of the programming languages. Some of the comments from “StumbleUpon” web site given by it’s users… Hierarchical breakdown of programming languages. I like how they separated PHP for the versions where it was being developed in parallel. And who knew Ruby has been around for 10+ years?…..said by mack I like how this site depicts the history of computer langauage. The diagram demonstrates new direction taken by the two most popular computer languages and their diversions to somewhat simplify each… What this diagram also does Well, is educates. It educates and informs those who knows nothing about computer language. …said by beverly More Info: • The Time Line • Programming Language Poster (PDF File) • Computer Language History Related Articles: More than 2000 languages to code •

GAMING ARENA

Have read, about hardware, software then why not enjoy with popular web games? Thanks To Flickr.com for Image

Why Gaming Has Gained Importance In Past Decade?
Recently the world witnessed the international level gaming tournament WSVG (World Series of Video Games) with huge participant turnout. The event spanned over a space of 150,000 square feet of tournaments exhibition another attraction. Now THAT WAS SOMETHING!!!! Gaming today has moved from being just a mere mode of fun (reserved only for the kids) to being a passion persuaded by people both young and old. A recent estimate tells us that the average gamer’s age today is between 25 to 30 years. The gaming history dates back to those days when the galaxy was ‘visualized’ on a CRO screen and the spaceships were merely made of dots and pixels. Back then these gaming consoles stretched over…..Hold your breathe…..an entire residential flat…..Yeah I know that’s the exact size of the LAN gaming hub you visit with 20 other friends of yours to play CounterStrike or UT!!! Now this is worth mention—The First Successful PC by IBM was IBM 5150 which was also a ‘GAMING CONSOLE’ of those days…These are its specifications CPU: Intel 8088 at 4.77 MHz Ram: 16k-640k Now that’s a true CONSOLE!!! Hey Dudes I mean we should not poke fun at the OLD….Yes I know OLD is GOLD…but tell me in these days of processors with a speed of 3.0Ghz+ (compare that with IBM 5150—4.47Mhz )and minimum Ram 1GB(read IBM 5150—Max Ram—640 Kb) and you can surely say…. “Welcome to your life, There’s no turning back!!!”

Speaking about the games, out of all possible categories the ones which click with the current gaming generation are:1) FPS (First Person Shooters) like CounterStrike, call of duty, Half Life 1,2 etc. 2) TPS(Third Person Shooters) like GTA—Vice city,GTA3,Liberty City Stories, Vice city stories,Mafia,Freedom Fighter,The Godfather,Scarface –The World Is Yours and so on.

3) Strategy Based Games like Rollercoaster 1,2 3,Rise of the nations etc. 4) Sports—FIFA, 5) Car Racing—NFS, Midtown Madness etc. And many more… Don’t know about the others, but as a kid, I was very much an admirer of the Rambo franchise or say the Terminator series. I am an imaginative person and was always a true fan of stories like that of SINBAD or ALLADIN and loved Them especially on the movies screen. Be it the GI joes or the SUPERMAN or say SPIDERMAN and they were my true heroes…………cutback to now,…..all I have to do is just press a few buttons, insert a CD and start tapping the keyboard-mouse and let my imagination takeoff!!! According to me the simple reason why gaming has gained significance is this—The World has finally got a medium wherein after the daily routine of work one can also be in the Army and the shoot the terrorists. One can easily be a gangster and command respect. One can join the SWAT and save the city. Anyone can easily become a superhero, a soldier, a bad guy at the same time…..or maybe if the time permits…..drive a car, fly a plane, drive a boat, maybe run your own city, your own nation or maybe the entire world….after all – ‘EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD!!!’

The blue mark at the left and right top side of the images shows the date of publish for both the newspapers which seems to be same, along with the newspaper name. The green mark shows the similarity of the image, that both have used to illustrate there contents, is it coincidence that they both got same picture?. The red mark highlights the content (almost every para.) , this too is same, are the editor same? oh! they may be the best friend. The above snipped news is about the discovery of how the human mind can be read, done by German scientists. Being a citizen of India, I would like to say that, if the contents are same (i.e. each and every word, just like that they have mugged by and then started writing the article for the paper), images are same(it’s ok, images can be same), dates of publishing is same, then why two different papers? The same trend is being followed by so many days by both the newspapers. Oh! that’s there personal matter, so you don’t get fooled, buy just one newspaper. For more reference and detail look, you can either buy the copy of “DNA (Daily News Analysis)” and “Times of India” of dated 6th March 2007 or wait till I scan or get more images describing this. Related Websites: • DNA India • Times of India • Article on same topic at BBC. It can be the case that content provider for both the paper are same, but then why two different papers?, Come on! lets forget this, it was just my personal view. Note: It just my personal view. What do you think about this?

Godfather 2 – The offer you still cannot refuse
I was waiting to watch the sequel ever since i read the book and saw the 1st movie. At last after about a year of watching the first one i found it at my local Movie Library. Truly the godfather series in itself is Masterpiece and a must watch for everyone who loves his family and i bet everyone can relate to acharacter in this EPIC tale. Coppola is Back With A Sequel to the Godfather Tale This Time With A storyline which simultaneously tells you the story of a Father (Don Vito Corleone— The Godfather) and his Son (Micheal Corleone—The New Don). Here goes my review……. The Rise of Don Vito ( Robert De Niro) through the barren lands of the italian village ’Corleone’ where his family is murdered ,to the tough neighbourhoods of ’Hell’s Kitchen’ making his way through hoodlums and insane small-time mobsters. This is where he finds his Capo’s Salvatore ’Sal’ Tessio and Peter ’Fat’ Clemenza and his counsigliere Genco Abbandando with whom he starts his Olive oil business. But first he has to make his ’BONES’.So he Murders the Dreaded and Feared local Hood and Gets his respect and earns the Title of ’Godfather’. When he’s established as a respected and feared don of New York,he returns to his village to avenge his family’s death………… On the other hand ….almost three decades later his son Micheal Corleone (Al Pacino) is now the DON and controls the Corleone family.Hymen Roth who pretends to be a father figure to Micheal actually attempts To get Micheal Assassinated with a liitle help from Micheal’s Brother Freddo. Mike survives but seeks his revenge. ’Franky’ Pentangeli now controls The Late Clemenza’s Gang is sore on Mike because he feels Mike tried to wipe him out, whereas the fact is Hymen set the whole thing to curb Micheal.Franky and his Soldier William ’Willi’ Cicci turn approvers in court but later Fracky changes his statement for the fear of his brother’s life. When Mike comes to know that Freddo betrayed him, he decides that he would punish Him ….but only after his mother dies…..

The scene where Connie (his sister) pleads him to take Freddo back into the house and forgive him…and Mike hugging Freddo….and looking over at Al Neri (his Bodygaurd)…Al knowing that know Freddo is in because he’s gonna be killed, is the best scene according to me. In the true Godfather fashion.,Mike gets Hymen Killed(It cost him the life of His Most trusted BodyGaurd–Rocco Lompone),Together with franky commiting suicide in the FBI prison. But the worst part of all…..He gets his Brother Freddo Killed…one thing that must Haunt him all his life………… If you loved The Godfather Series or are interested refer these: • IMDB reviews • JGEOFF’s Dedicated Website • My Review at another website

What to expect at cricket 2007 world cup?
A month and a half of excitement and extreme anticipation awaits you as the world watches a showdown of the cricket-stars in the land of the ‘maan’. Here are a few things to watch out for in this, the 9th edition of the Cricket World Cup• Expect a few 400+ scores. With bowlers of the Bermuda, Canada, Scotland, Netherlands, Kenya, Netherlands serving batsmen with nice juicy lollipops, and smaller grounds of the Caribbean, Sri Lanka’s highest World Cup total of 396 (vs Kenya 1996) looks set to be broken. • Fresh talents Mahendra Dhoni (India), Mike Hussey(Australia), Robin Utthappa ( India), could well be the one’s to steal the show. • Possible last attemps at the World Cup by stalwarts- Sachin, Lara, Inzamam, Jayasuriya, McGrath, Vaas, Pollock, Muralitharan. Do the Old Horses have it in them to make their countries proud? • New generation heroes –Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Jacques Kallis, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, Kevin Pieterson, Andrew Flintoff, We might well miss the current best bowlers of our generation at this World Cup. Shoaib Akhtar, Mohamamad Asif, Brett Lee miss the World Cup due to injuries. • Results of Greg Chappel’s cocktail experimentations. It’s the defining event of the Aussie’s Indian stint. Does Guru Greg prove his critics wrong? Does the aftermath of the event lead to the return of ‘Dada’? Will Dravid show that a captain is one who is aggressive in the mind and not just on the field? We’ll have answered them by the end of this World Cup. And now it’s prediction time!! My five picks for the tournament:- Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Sanath Jayasuriya, Jacob Oram (if fit), Yuvraj Singh (sorry no place for bowlers). Here are my choices for the Semi-finals:- Australia, India, Sri Lanka, and West Indies. So wait, watch and enjoy the moment as the titans of the game fight it out for a dream date on 28th April.

WHITEPAPERS

Get mugged up with the theoretical papers, re-explained at OxyGyan. Thanks To Flickr.com for Image

Semantic Web
What Semantic Web is? You may just have an idea that the Semantic Web is a web of data. There is lots of data we all use every day, and its not part of the web. I can have a birthday calendar, I can see my mails online, I also have pics of my friends. But can I see a birthday calendar on my email or pics on my birthday calendar. Why not???? Because we don’t have a web of data. Because data is controlled by applications, and each application keeps it to itself. This is where Semantic Web comes into picture. The Semantic Web is a mesh of information linked up in such a way as to be easily process-able by machines, on a global scale. You can think of it as being an efficient way of representing data on the World Wide Web, or as a globally linked database. The Semantic Web is about common formats for integration and combination of data drawn from diverse sources, where on the original Web mainly concentrated on the interchange of documents and a language for recording how the data relates to real world objects that allows a person, or a machine, to start off in one database, and then move through an unending set of databases which are connected by being about the same thing. The Semantic Web is a conceptual information space in which the resources identified by URIs (Uniform Resource Identifier) can be processed by machines. The machine will have the following principles: “partial understanding” and “inference“, being able to infer new knowledge of terms from data that you already understand and hence evolution and transformation. Because the URIs is being used to represent the resources, systems can grow on a globally decentralized basis, similar to hypertext documentation systems on the early WWW (World Wide Web). The Data can then be referred by anyone else once data is given a URI, and, complex and intricate relationships can be built, queried, and processed. At the base of this plan is the hope that people will start publishing their data in RDF (Resource Description Framework), which is commonly implemented in an XML based format. The RDF data model is easy to learn, and consists of a series of “triples”, i.e. three URIs, which can then be used to model any relationship between data that you care to think of. Thus, all data stored in the system is easily readable and process-able.

Once there is a significant amount of data in RDF, we can start to actually utilize it. We can merge two totally independent sources, to come up with aggregated content which we get after a tremendous amount of work. It still takes some effort to merge RDF, but tools will make this job trivial. The next level is the inference level. This describes the capability of the data to be more or less selfdescribing, i.e. grounded in terms that one’s processor already knows so that it may work with new terms as it comes across them. For example, your processor may understand term X, but not understand term Y. When it comes across a piece of RDF that states that term X is equivalent in some respect to term Y, it should be able to use this information to its advantage. Using this, it becomes possible to convert some languages into one another. For common understanding, with the Semantic Web, what we understand as being common terms will eventually collect into distinct groups. No one will have to analyze data, simply accept it. Of course, there will be a great amount of localization too - if you already know of a certain set of terms, you may as well use them rather than creating your own. However, if you went ahead and created your own terms, and then learnt that there was a similar but wider vocabulary being produced elsewhere, what would you normally do? Scrap your own code and use the new lot? With the Semantic Web, it should be possible to simply point out the inferences between the data, and use it that way. Your processors should then be able to understand the external data, and the external processors, assuming that they utilize Semantic Web technologies as well, will be able to process your data. Common understanding is something that will most likely ever happen on a localized and deliberate scale, rather than a global one. For example, if you use the term “Automobile” in your language somewhere, there could be thousands of definitions of “Automobile” that your processor knows about. It should not be expected to recognize these until it has to process them first hand. For these reasons, two axioms of the Semantic Web are, 1) use other people’s data when possible, and 2) don’t expect to have to convert from your language into several thousand others. As of now, the Semantic Web is still in a very early stage of development; there are only a handful of tools available, an averagely small community, and a great deal of misunderstanding about the term “Semantic Web”. Many Researchers are working on this topic to discover new things and even Papers are being called for. However, work is continuing, and more people are getting on board. Semantic Web in short: • Resources: Globally Identified by URI’s or locally scoped (Blank) Extensible Relational • Links: Identified by URI’s Extensible Relational • Machine: More process-able information is available (Data Web) • Computers and people: Work, learn and exchange knowledge effectively, richer user experience **URI - Uniform Resource Identifier **RDF - Resource Description Framework

Today’s Site: Tech2.com
When you switch on the TV set to the now popular channel CNN IBN, there is one show that stands out and catches the attention of even the most rapid channel surfers.I am talking about the show which showcases the latest technology and the hot and happening news of new “OH-SO-STUNNING” mobile handsets. They often tend to mention the name of the website TECH2.com for the cross references to the products thay showcase. So I decided to visit the website and see whether the site really lives up to the promise like the TV show. One thing that you notice when the site loads is that not an inch of the screen has been spared by the designer. It looks strange but comfortable. The top half of the webpage showcases the latest news and products launched by various companies. The lower half of the webpage is what intrigues me the most. There are a number of links which lead to various topics like gaming, pc and laptops, gizmos etc and they provide information on the products and the latest news on the topics selected. there is also reviews on all the things possibly related to technology. There is also buying tips on the various products on display at the site.you can also search for the products you want to know about (and at last,it actually works!!!). Visit the site if you don’t have a cable tv at home!. Thumbs up: Updated daily, accurate details of the products, easy language used for reviews. Thumbs down: Takes a long time to load, the reviews are at times confusing.
