Summary
This EV Fair event is appropriate for all levels, but will focus on using these resources in
the K-12 (primary and secondary) level. I will demonstrate how to use videos available
online in sites such as TeacherTube, YouTube and ITunes to teach integrated skills. The
participants will learn how to find, download, embed and/or stream videos available
from different online sources, and will be able to see examples of activities that enhance
language learning by using authentic media. Activities include: creative writing, content-
based teaching, online-based quizzes that use videos as input, and how to use videos in
blogs, wikis and learning management systems such as Moodle.
The demonstration will also include tips on how to work with these resources in K-12
schools where many of these websites are blocked, by learning how to download and
save these videos to flash drives and other storing devices.
A handout with a list of online resources will be available online and in print at the EV
Fair.
