The following rebates are available for residential energy efficiency measures. Weatherization offers apply to home owners in Washington who heat their homes primarily with Avista electric or natural gas. Water heating offers apply to customers heating their water with Avista electric or natural gas. Conversion offers apply to Avista electric resistance heat customers only.* Please see descriptions below for complete rebate requirements. All programs are subject to change and request for rebate must be submitted within 90 days of job completion. Offers apply to existing homes. For new construction and new additions please use the Washington New Construction Rebate Form.

HIGH EFFICIENCY EQUIPMENT

Natural Gas Furnace/Boiler
A $400 rebate is available for installation of a high efficiency natural gas furnace or boiler of 90% AFUE (efficiency) or greater. AFUE verification requires an AHRI Certificate.**

WEATHERIZATION
Insulation
Rebates are available for the addition of new insulation that increases the R-Value by R-10 or greater (both fitted/batt type and blown-in). Insulation must be installed only where such cavities separate conditioned from unconditioned areas of the residence. Insulation must be contractor installed. Contractor must certify existing and new levels of insulation and your bill must be itemized. Square footage, R-Value ratings, and cost must be itemized on the invoice in addition to being listed on the rebate form. Customer usage will be reviewed and must demonstrate minimum kilowatt hour or therm usage occured during the previous heating season.*

Air Source Heat Pump (ducted)

A $100 rebate is available to Avista electric customers for the installation of a central, high efficiency air source heat pump of at least 8.5 HSPF (heating efficiency) and 14 SEER (cooling efficiency). For manufactured homes systems must meet 7 .7 HSPF and 13.0 SEER. Please check the box for manufactured home on the form. HSPF verification requires an AHRI Certificate.** Ductless Heat Pumps do not qualify for this rebate.

Variable Speed Motor

A $100 rebate is available to Avista electric customers for installation of a primary heating system that incorporates a variable speed motor. This rebate may be combined with a high efficiency rebate.

Ceiling/Attic
A $0.25 per square foot rebate is available if existing insulation level is R-12 or less.

Wall and Floor

A $0.50 per square foot rebate is available if existing insulation level is R-5 or less. Any insulation installed outside the cavity, such as siding applications, does not meet rebate requirements.
* If you use electricity to heat your home, a review of your Avista electric use must show at least 4,000 kilowatt-hours of space heat use during the previous winter heating season in order to be eligible for the rebate. If you use natural gas to heat your home, a review of your Avista natural gas use must show at least 160 therms of space heat use during the previous winter heating season to be eligible for the rebate. Avista will review your usage as part of the program eligibility requirements. ** AHRI Certificate (Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute: www.ahridirectory.org/) This certification confirms the AFUE (annual fuel utilization) for boilers and furnaces; the HSPF (heating seasonal performance factor) for the heat pumps and the EF (energy factor) for the water heaters. FYI: Normally can be provided by contractor who installed the equipment. Can also be located at this website.

Water Heater
A $30 rebate is available for installation of either an electric or natural gas water heater. For an electric tank type of 50 gallons or greater, the EF (efficiency) must be 0.93 or greater; for a natural gas tank type of 50 gallons or greater, the EF must be 0.60 or greater or for a 40 gallon tank the EF must be 0.62 or greater. EF verification requires an AHRI certificate.** Tankless and heat pump water heaters do not qualify for this rebate.
