The virtual appliances created for IBM® PureFlex™ System are designed to accelerate the time-to-value and facilitate the rapid construction of cloud environments. These prepackaged solutions combine the application with middleware components and the operating system for rapid deployment with minimal customization. Independent software vendors (ISVs) build virtual appliances for IBM PureFlex System using tooling provided by the Virtual Appliance Factory (VAF) and support from IBM Innovation Centers (IICs). The IBM PureFlex System virtual appliances that are designated as “Ready for PureSystems” require either IBM PowerVM® or KVM hypervisors.
