Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Communicate complex technical information in a concise and articulate manner Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of Oracle DBMS technologies Ensure the integrity of production, test and QA database environments Ensure that impact analyses, software configuration parameters, and standards and procedures support the companys database environment needs and are adhered to by database administration staff Review application transaction volume and traffic analysis, and interpret impact on database, O/S and network performance Interact with analysts and developers for development projects to understand system requirements of their conceptual models, analyze transactions and data volumes, and design the physical database Manage and develop technical project plans for new activities Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and standards to ensure systems compliance Oversee database operations to ensure the highest levels of availability and optimal performance Manage backup and disaster recovery procedures, ensuring the database recovery plan is documented and coordinates the testing of it Prepare status updates and progress reports for all DBA related projects Perform capacity planning of database environment Foster both internal and external departmental communication by training and no-the-job assistance. Establish and Promote processes and standards which advance the developmental and operational efficiency of the team

Skills/Experience Required: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related area required Minimum 7 years of database administration experience required managing Oracle OLTP and DW databases in a 24x7 environment Minimum 3 years in an Oracle DBA management role Expert knowledge of Oracle Performance issues, including Optimizer Statistics, Partitioning and indexing. Expert knowledge of Oracle Recover Manager Experience with storage area networks, networking and storage arrays Demonstrated experience working well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in high-pressure situations and complex environments Competency in project management and management of resources to meet goals and multiple projects Initiative, good judgment, and the ability to achieve results through others Success in developing and implementing new technology and work processes Excellent oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to write clear proposals and technical documents

Our Galway office is now recruiting for a QA / IT Administrator role starting in Aug 2011. Required Skills As a Quality Assurance & IT Administrator you will perform moderately complex testing tasks requiring planning, scheduling, and testing to assure that developed products meet design specifications and are within total quality management limits and standards as well as IT diagnostics on different types of software and hardware. You will communicate with sprint team members as part of a SCRUM development life cycle and be responsible to the team to ensure team deliverables are met. You will also work closely with other team members to reach your objectives. This dual role reports both to the Quality Assurance/Testing Manager for QA purposes and to the IT Manager for IT purposes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Quality Assurance Ability to represent and execute functional QA test plans and test cases for a project Experience with end-to-end test processes and the ability to formulate test strategy for software application features. Familiarity with at least one bug tracking system and the general concepts of writing a defect Ability to work with teams in international locations and communicate status and issues both written and verbally. IT Administration Understands basic networking concepts. Familiar with Windows Family of operating systems and Office applications. Experience with various diagnostics tools used in troubleshooting PC hardware, software and network connectivity problems. Experience using and supporting basic computer hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, monitors and computer cabling. Required Experience The successful candidate will: Have two to five years of experience in development, IT Desktop/Network Support, or product testing. Familiarity with standard software testing and QA methodologies. Experience of QA in an agile development environment is highly desirable. 1-2 years experience validating requirements themselves for accuracy and completeness.
