Job Description: About the Internship: As an intern at GBSM, you will gain hands-on communications experience working directly with some of Denver's most respected senior communications professionals. This position offers the unique opportunity to actively participate in projects that make a difference on some of today's most important issues, such as water, transportation, the environment, healthcare and more. Examples of work done by previous interns include: public meeting preparation and support for significant metro-area transportation projects, support of a community visioning initiative, editorial participation in the production of a major conservation announcement video, and media monitoring and analysis for local and national clients. The GBSM internship position offers great experience, references, business networking opportunities, a flexible schedule and a $1,750.00 stipend. Responsibilities: * * * * * * Support Principals, Senior Associates and Associates on projects. Prepare for and participate in public meetings and events. Monitor media coverage. Organize and maintain media database. Research companies, clients, individuals, etc. Contribute to GBSM best practices and competitive positioning via internal projects.

Job Qualifications: Requirements: * Must be a current undergraduate or recent graduate within the communications or business fields (i.e. Journalism, English, Public Relations or Business majors), and available to work 15-20 hours/week from late May through late August. * Our ideal candidate has a well-rounded background, including a mix of good grades, extracurricular activities and a demonstrated interest in the communications field. We're looking for an outgoing, resourceful, confident, creative problem solver — someone who is self-motivated and willing to work on a variety of projects, large and small. Previous internship(s) a plus. * Communications skills: Excellent verbal and presentation skills; demonstrated writing skills and ability to reference AP-style; portfolio includes a variety of samples showcasing a range of styles. * Project management: Ability to perform, analyze and summarize research; experience creating and maintaining databases; previous event management experience a plus; strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. * Technical skills: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) & internet research.
