Additional Information for creating a successful Power Point presentation on your 2 chosen careers. Make sure you have included all of the points below within your presentation to ensure meeting the grading criteria

Within your two 10 minute power point presentations on 2 music industry roles you must have detailed information on the following: Clear identification of the career/job role you are going to discuss. The required skills and accepted routes into the role (would you need a degree? Some sort of qualification? Is it a start from the bottom and work up type of job? Or is it about knowing the right people)?

Is the role widely available (such as music teacher/ covers band member) or is it much more specialist (such as tape editor). With this in mind will there be a lot of competition for the role or not much? How much can you expect to earn? Discuss the current skills you have which would give you a greater chance of getting the job over someone else. Then discuss the skills you personally need to work on which will give you more chance of being successful in the role. Discuss some original/unique ways in which you could increase your chances of being successful in that industry, think outside the box. For this you should consider your unique selling point (USP). Having a good USP will increase your chances of being successful at what you do. Leave a couple of minutes at the end to take questions on what youve talked about.
Remember, you do not want to write essays in the Power Point. Break it down into bullet points on each slide, which will remind you of the things you want to talk about. You can include additional notes if you wish, which will not appear on the screen that your audience can see. For this to be successful you need to be confident on what you are talking about ,make sure you rehears the presentation in your head, using the slides in front of you, before you get up and deliver it.
