RECAP: RF Eric Thames (1x4, RBI) and 2B Nick Franklin (1x4, RBI) each knocked in a run as Tacoma defeated Salt Lake 2-1 on
Tuesday afternoon. DH Stefen Romero (2x4), 1B Scott Savastano (2x4) and LF Leury Bonilla (2x4, R) each recorded 2 of Tacomas 11
hits. Starter Brian Sweeney (5.0,5,1,1,0,6,HR) recorded his 2nd win of the season, allowing only 1 run on 5 hits and striking out 6 in 5.0
innings. LH Lucas Luetge (2.0,1,0,0,0,4) and RH Logan Bawcom (2.0,2,0,0,1,1) combined to strike out 5 in the final 4.0 innings in relief.
Bawcom earned his 2nd save of the season with a scoreless 8th and 9th innings.
OF NOTE: OF Eric Thames is the only player in the league to reach base safely in each of his teams first 20 games this season. Overall

run scored, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 2 RBI. INF Nick Franklin has hit safely in 10 of 11 games this season, batting .325 (13x40) with 9 runs

became the first Rainiers player since second baseman Dustin Ackley to have his first Triple-A hit go for a home run on Thursday night.
Ackley hit a solo homer in first Tacoma at-bat on July 15, 2010 at Reno. The Rainiers begin the season with 4 of the top 5 prospects in the
Mariners farm system, as ranked by Baseball America. Catcher Mike Zunino (No. 1), pitchers Danny Hultzen (No. 3) and James Paxton
(No. 4), and infielder Nick Franklin (No. 5) all sit atop BAs list entering the 2013 season.
HITTING FOR THE CYCLE: Shortstop Carlos Triunfel recorded 5 hits, including hitting for the cycle as AAA Tacoma shutout Fresno 8-0
on Wednesday night. Singling on the first pitch he saw in the fifth inning, Triunfel completed Tacomas first cycle since Raul Ibaez
accomplished the feat on Aug. 19, 1997 vs. Albuquerque. He also is the first player in the Pacific Coast League to cycle since Nashvilles
Caleb Gindl on July 10, 2011, also against Albuquerque. Triunfel achieved the act in his first 4 at-bats of the game. He tripled with one out
in the first inning, led off the bottom of the third with a double, then homered in the fourth. He completed the cycle in the fifth inning after
lining a single down the right field line. Triunfel snapped an 0-for-20 stretch coming into the game and was the first Rainiers player since
Michael Saunders on July 30, 2011 vs. Las Vegas to record 5 hits in a game.

RECAP: RF Abraham Almonte (1x5, RBI, BB) delivered a walk-off single scoring SS Brad Miller
(1x6, R, 2B) in the 13th inning as Jackson defeated Pensacola 2-1 on Tuesday night. Starter
Chance Ruffin (7.0,4,1,1,2,6,HR) allowed 1 run (a solo home run) on 4 hits and struck out 6 in 7.0
innings, but didnt figure into the decision. Relievers Jonathan Arias (2.0,0,0,0,1,2), Tyler Burgoon
(2.0,1,0,0,1,4) and Nick Hill (2.0,0,0,0,0,1) combined to toss 6.0 innings in relief. Hill recorded his
1st win of the season after retiring the final 6 batters in a row. DH James Jones (3x6), 3B Jack
Marder (2x5, R, 3B), C Brandon Bantz (2x5) and CF Francisco Martinez (2x6) each recorded
multi-hit games for Jackson.
OF NOTE:.RHP Taijuan Walker has not allowed an earned run in his last 3 starts (4 R), loweing
his season ERA from 7.20 to 1.64. Overall this season, he is 1-2 with a 1.64 ERA (4 ER, 22.0 IP) in
4 starts. He has limited opponents to a .165 (13x79) average, while walking 14 and striking out 25.
C John Hicks currently has a 6-game hit streak with 5 multi-hit contests. During his hit streak he is

afternoon. Taylor (3x5, R, 2B) led the team with 3 hits, while Austin (2x5, 3 RBI) recorded the teams only other multi-hit game. 1B Ji-Man
Choi (1x4, R, 3B, RBI), LF Daniel Paolini (1x4, 2B, RBI and 3B Dillon Hazlett (1x2, RBI, 2 BB) each recorded 1 of the teams 6 RBI. After
being promoted from Clinton, Stephen Landazuri (5.1,3,1,1,1,3,HR) earned his first win with the Mavericks and 2nd this season. He

POSTPONED RAIN

RECAP: The finale between the LumberKings and Snappers was postponed due to rain at Ashford
University Field. The postponement is the 7th for the LumberKings in the last 12 days. Clinton
started the homestand with a doubleheader against Wisconsin after Thursday and Friday's games
were washed out. The LumberKings will have to play a doubleheader in Wisconsin in early May
due to the Timber Rattlers not returning to Clinton in the first half. Beloit does return to Clinton in
the first half, setting up another doubleheader for the LumberKings. Clinton has already played 8
doubleheader games, the most in the Midwest League. The Snappers return for a 3-game series
from May 14-16. The 2 teams will play a doubleheader on May 14 at Ashford University Field. The
LumberKings hit the road for a six-game trip to Lake County and Fort Wayne.
OF NOTE: OF Dario Pizzano has hit safely in 14 of 17 games this season, batting .351 (20x57)
