In order that I achieved success in building the Database, I had to understand the various business areas of the company. I scheduled interviews and worked closely with the various users of the system, so as to have a proper understanding of the requirements of the users and this improved my team working ability. I analysed their current data structure using one of the techniques of a structured methodology SSADM. I also used the Object Oriented design and analysis methodology and this gave me a better understanding of how the new database will function. Testing was also carried out on weekly basis to ensure that the database met the desired functionality. The database is now being implemented in the Company.
