Putting a face on academic success ED UC AT I O N H I G HL IGH T S Opening San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD)
Graduation Ceremonies to a global audience of friends and family

What our team does:
NOWCastSA staff provides training, tech assistance and video hosting to Brackenridge High School media magnet teacher Robert Blackard and his students, so high school graduation ceremonies are webcast around the world. NOWCastSA uses a combination of technology from NewTek and Livestream, along with Facebook and Twitter campaigns, to get unprecedented engagement levels on mobile devices as well as traditional web traffic. NOWCastSA webcasts are like public television on the Internet, but better: • People who can’t attend can still enjoy and participate online, adding their comments from any Internet-connected mobile device or computer. • Peopls watch from across town, across Texas and around the world, including pueblos in Mexico. • Later, anyone can replay the complete, unfiltered video for free. And they do!

Impact on students and families:
As SAISD students walk the stage and receive their diplomas, the webcast makes them Internet superstars, highlighting the importance of academic achievement and making role models of those who beat the odds and succeed. The webcasts open the room to working dads and moms, disabled grandparents, far-flung family and deployed military personnel, letting them “be there” via live chat, to share, celebrate and congratulate, on the biggest day of these students’ lives.

Impact on your brand:
• Viewers watched live graduation webcasts for an average of 18.72 minutes each in 2012 • The Livestream graduation channel got 59,867 views and over 150,422 viewer minutes • 6,230 different people watched graduation webcasts and videos at NOWCastSA.com • 2012 High School Valedictorian videos drew 582 viewer minutes on NOWCastSA’s YouTube

When  Ramona  Garcia  sang  the  Na2onal  Anthem  at  the  first  of  San  Antonio  Independent  School  District's  high   school  gradua2on  ceremonies  in  2011,  her  grandfather  was  watching  and  listening  on  his  computer  250  miles  away. "Thanks  for  webcas2ng  the  Gradua2on  of  Highlands  High  School  this  morning,"  wrote  Ramona's  grandfather,  OLo   Perryman,  in  an  email.  "I  am  disabled  and  was  unable  to  travel  to  San  Antonio  to  see  the  gradua2on,  and  appreciate   you  allowing  me  to  watch  it  from  my  home  in  Fort  Worth."
