(i) All questions are compulsory.

Maximum Marks: 90

(ii) The question paper consists of 34 questions divided into four sections A,B,C and D. Section A comprises of 8 questions of 1 mark each, section B comprises of 6 questions of 2 marks each, section C comprises of 10 questions of 3 marks each and section D comprises 10 questions of 4 marks each.

(iii) Question numbers 1 to 10 in section-A are multiple choice questions where you are to select one correct option out of the given four.

(iv) There is no overall choice. However, internal choice have been provided in 1 question of two marks, 3 questions of three marks each and 2 questions of four marks each. You have to attempt only one of the alternatives in all such questions.

(v) Use of calculator is not permitted.

  • 26. A man standing on the deck of a ship, which is 10m above the water level, observes the angle of elevation of the top of a hill as 600 and the angle of depression of the base of the hill as 300. Calculate the distance of the hill from the ship and the height of the hill.

OR The angle of elevation of a jet fighter from a point A on the ground is 600. After a flight of 15seconds, the angle of elevation changes to 300. If the jet is flying at a speed of 720 km/hour, find the constant height at which the jet is flying.

  • 27. Prove that the angle between two tangents drawn from an external point to a circle is supplementary to the angle subtended by the line segment joining the points of contact at the centre.

  • 28. A person on tour has Rs 360 for his expenses. If he extends his tour for four days, he has to cut down his daily expenses by Rs 3. Find the original duration of the tour.

  • 33. A sum of Rs. 1400 is to be used to give seven cash prizes to students of a school for their overall academic performance. If each prize is Rs. 40 less than the preceding price, find the value of each of the prizes.

  • 34. The slant height of the frustum of a cone is 4 cm and the circumferences of its circular ends are 18 cm and 6 cm. Find curved surface are of the frustum.
