Leadership & Extracurricular Activities


Debate Team: 2011-2012
Team member and judge for in-house competitions. Taught, managed, and planned a yearlong course equine healthcare, nutrition, and physiology to middle school students. Completed a 3 week graded course in pattern making. Cared for livestock 3 days a week to explore an interest in animal science and sustainable farming. 1st grade religious education teacher at Our Lady of Fatima in Wilton, CT. Selected by high school administration, based on strength of character & leadership skills, to be a mentor and peer counselor-20 hrs training. Student board member of the Wilton Teen PeaceWorks club. Club activities addressed both the prevalence and warning signs of teen dating violence. Honored by Connecticuts Attorney General Richard Blumenthal for raising awareness about teen dating violence. Elected sophomore class officer by student body. Fundraised for class projects to include Socks for Soldiers. This project provided goodie bags for US military members in active duty. Worked with high school administration to replace missing locks on bathroom stalls. Represented Wilton High on a student panel for the professional development of pre-service teachers at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT. One of 8 dancers selected for the Wilton High School production of Into the Woods. Designed, created and modeled fashions in the annual WHS Fashion Show. Member of the marching and concert bands (flute).

Our Lady of Fatima Church Youth Group -Teen Governing Board: 2008 - 2012
Participated in community service activities such as the Big Sister monthly mentoring program with 2nd and 3rd graders from Blessed Sacrament Parish in Bridgeport, CT. Participated in car wash fundraisers. Provided fall clean up at the homes of needy residents in the community. Worked at community outreach dinner functions and provided entertainment at programs for the elderly in the community.

Worked on refurbishing houses in low-income areas.

Team member raised money for cancer research. Volunteered monthly at various town and school events. Worked at soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and elderly residences. Accepted into the program based on a demonstration of leadership and good citizenship.

Ridgefield Equestrian: 2011 2012
Camp counselor for summer riding program. Responsibilities included teaching campers beginner horseback riding, grooming and caring for horses, parts of the horse, and other riding skills. Worked during the year at birthday parties and other events at the barn. Worked for a family regularly with one young child, age 1, during the school year. (2009) Worked for a family with 3 young children, ages 4, 7, and 12. Cared for children during summer months. (2010) Worked as a back up babysitter for multiple families, with a variety of different age children. (2010)

Horseback Riding
Enjoy riding and caring for horses. Participated and placed in the top 4 at United States Equestrian Federation horse shows. (2010-2012) Member of the United States Hunter Jumper Association. (2010-2012) Enjoy fashion design. Completed fashion design courses in 9th, 10th ,11th, and 12th grades. Received an honorable mention award for design apparel by the Connecticut Scholastic Art Awards Committee in a statewide competition, 2009. Completed a fashion design course at Silvermine Arts Center, Norwalk, CT, 2009. Completed a graded 3-week pattern-making course at the Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC. Equine Science teaching internship. Included starting the class, planning the curriculum, and teaching/managing the class alone. (2010-2012) 1st grade religious education teacher. (2009-2012) Child Development classes that included teaching pre-school children. (2008-2009) Enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures. Traveled to over 20 US States and traveled internationally to Italy (Rome, Tuscany), Jamaica, and Antigua.
