The First Move Skill Checker, accompanying PC13/2007 has been placed on EPIC. It is specifically for use by probation at the report stage and will replace Fast Track 20 Questions. Areas are expected to switch use the new checkers by 1 June 2007. Back to the top

104/07 STANDARD FORMS TO SUPPORT OM PHASE 2 AND SUBSEQUENT PHASES
A set of standard forms for use to support offender management in custodial cases, has been issued. Their development has drawn on examples of forms provided by areas and regions. The forms are being issued to the Prison Service simultaneously. An explanation of each form, with a downloadable copy, has been published on Epic.

107/07 NPS HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDANCE - TOBACCO SMOKING
A revised version of the National H&S Policy arrangement on tobacco smoking in the NPS has been issued. It provides guidance on the new smoke free premises regulations, introduced on 2nd April in Wales and due on 1st July in England; it is recommended to Areas by the National Health and Safety Forum. 109/07 NATIONAL DOMESTIC EXTREMISM - OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS FOR PROBATION
A letter raising awareness of a probation secondment to the Police National Coordinator of Domestic Extremism has been circulated to chief officers. The supervision of offenders convicted of offences connected with domestic extremism – such as animal rights activists – may benefit from national support, given the high risk of harm or repeat victimisation that is often involved.
