Fall Into Books Wichita is the first African American literary conference to be held in Wichita, which will feature New York Times Bestseller Mary Monroe, author of the God Don’t Like Ugly book series and National Bestseller and NAACP Image Award winner ReShonda Tate Billingsley. Billingsley’s novel, Let the Church Say Amen, will be adapted as the first two hour featured television movie for Black Entertainment Television (BET) to debut this Fall. Let the Church Say Amen television movie is produced by Queen Latifah and Reina King, actress Regina King’s sister. Along with Monroe and Billingsley, Fall Into Books Wichita will also feature national bestselling authors: J.D. Mason, Tiffany L. Warren, A’ndrea J. Wilson, Monica McKayhan, Terra Little, Janice Love, and TaNisha Webb. Fall Into Books Wichita is founded and coordinated by Wichita native TaNisha Webb. This is the fourth year that Webb has hosted a Fall Into Books Literary Conference, which has been previously held in Kansas City, MO and St. Louis, MO. TaNisha is also a literary event planner, book club consultant, business owner and the author of The Ultimate Book Club Experience: How to Create & Maintain a Successful Book Club. Fall Into Books Wichita goal is to provide an opportunity for readers to connect with some of their favorite authors and also authors that they should become familiar with. Fall Into Books literary events are well known for their wonderful workshops, networking opportunities and more importantly - the dialog that takes place between the readers and authors during the author panel discussions and workshops. The registration fee for Fall Into Books Wichita is $40 per person. Group discount rate is $37. Wichita Art Museum member discount rate is $35. “Wichita have many avid readers but unfortunately the city has not had the opportunity to host a cultural event like Fall Into Books Wichita. I appreciate the Wichita Art Museum’s eagerness to collaborate with me and to be able to hold Fall Into Book Wichita at their beautiful facility,” says Webb who believes that Wichita is ready to host an African American literary conference. Fall Into Books Wichita will consist of a full day of author discussion panels where the readers will be able to listen to their favorite authors talk about their latest works, their publishing industry experience and participate in a Q&A Session. Fall Into Books Wichita will also offer a book club workshop for anyone that would like to learn how to create & maintain a successful book club and also a book signing with the featured authors to round out the event. Books will be available for purchased onsite through Literary-ly Speaking Special Events Bookseller. “Fall Into Books Wichita is the first of its kind in Wichita and a great way for avid readers, aspiring authors, and book clubs to spend the day with some of the best authors in the literary industry. Not only will readers learn more about their favorite authors but the authors will also be able to connect to readers in the Midwest, which is a challenge unless an event like Fall Into Books Wichita exists,” says Webb.
