1. Applications in the prescribed form are invited from both the direct & in-service Asst. Surgeons/ Dental Surgeons working under the State Government/State Government Undertaking for the posts of Sr. Residents/Tutors in t h e following disciplines including Trauma Care Centre and Mental Health Institute of S.C.B.M.C, Cuttack. The engagement is contractual in nature will be renewable on yearly basis for a maximum period of three years subject to satisfactory performance. The In-service Candidates working under the Govt. in Health & F.W. Department will get the Scale of Pay of Asst. Surgeons/ Dental. Surgeons and the Direct candidates will get a contractual remuneration of Rs.25,000/ (Rupees twenty five thousand) only per month. The posts are non-practicing. 2. 3. RESERVATION: The reservation policy of the State Govt. will be applicable for the vacancies. 4. AGE :Maximum age limit for the candidates both In-Service and Direct shall be 35 years as on 1.1.2013. The upper age limit for in-service doctors having Post Graduate Degree in Non-Clinical Subjects shall be 40(forty) as on 1.1.2013 .The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Back ward Classes (SEBC), S.C., S.T., Women and eligible ExServicemen and by 10 years for Physically Handicapped persons. 5. QUALIFICATION:A candidate must have obtained a Post-Graduate Degree in the concerned Speciality/ Higher speciality or any other equivalent degree or qualification prescribed and recognized by the M.C.I./D.C.I for Sr. Resident in the clinical departments. In case of Pre-clinical/Para clinical departments, MBBS is the basic qualification for the post of Tutors; however, 1st preference will be given to candidates having postgraduate degree. Candidates with MBBS degree can only be considered if there are no MD/MS/MDS candidates available in any category of the said discipline. -1-

Provided further that the candidates having M.Sc. degree in Medical Anatomy, Medical Physiology, Medical Bio -Chemistry, Medical Pharmacology & Medical Micro -Biology as prescribed by Medical Council of India shall also be considered if persons with MBBS degree are not available for tutor. 6. OTHER ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS: i) The candidate must be a citizen of India: ii) The candidate should be able to speak, read and write Odia and should have had Odia as a language subject in the Middle English School or any equivalent examination or has been declared to have passed a test in Odia Language equivalent to the Middle English School Standard conducted by the Government of Odisha; iii) A person who has more than one spouse living will not be eligible for appointment unless the State
Government has exempted his/her case from operation of this limitation for any good land sufficient reasons.

iv) Only those candidates who fulfill the requisite qualification and experience by the closing date of receipt of applications will be considered eligible; v) Before appointment a candidate must register himself/herself as a Medical Practitioner under relevant provision. The candidate whose service as Sr. Resident / Tutor has been terminated for whatsoever in the state by the Govt. will be not consider for reappointment. Those who are completed or continuing as Sr. Resident/ Tutor will not be eligible to apply. All selected candidates are to execute a bond. 7. APPLICATION F EE: A candidate is required to pay a non-refundable and non-adjustable fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred) only in shape of D.D. to be drawn in favour of DEAN & PRINCIPAL, S.C.B. MEDICAL COLLEGE, CUTTACK towards selection Fees Payable at SBI Medical Campus Branch, Cuttack (Code5760). 8. CERTIFICATES TO BE ATTACHED: Candidates are required to submit along with their applications self attested Photo copies of the following documents. They must not attach the original certificates. Only those who will be called for counselling are required to bring with them the original certificates, mark-sheets in support of the photo copies for verification. a. H.S.C. or equivalent certificate in support of their declaration of age. b. P.U./P.P./Intermediate/+2 Examination Certificate. c. M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. Certificate. d. P.G. Degree Certificate in support of qualification; in the concerned speciality/higher speciality. e. Certificate from competent authority regarding continuity in service under Government of Odisha. f. Mark list in support of all the aforesaid examinations (i.e. from H.S.C. to M.B.B.S./ B.D.S.)Passed including fail marks, if any; g. Certificate indicating the chances taken to obtain the degree (MBBS/B.D.S. & Post graduate degree). h. Houseman-ship Completion Certificate: i. Medical Registration Certificate/ Dental Registration Certificate; j. Required Odia Test Pass Certificate from Competent Authority if applicable; k. S.C/S.T./S.E.B.C. certificate from competent authority. l. Ex-Servicemen are required to attach copy of discharge certificate from the competent authority.

If a candidate claims to possess qualification equivalent to the prescribed qualification, the rule/ authority (with number and date) under which it is so treated must be furnished with the application form. -29. METHOD OF SELECTION: The selection of candidates for recruitment to the posts will be made on the basis of career marking. (1). (MBBS/BDS examination-60%,(2). Intermediate/+2Science-20%, th (3).10 /Matriculation-20%). One percent of mark will be deducted from the total career mark for each case of failure/extra attempt taken in the examination. The Selection Committee at their discretion may short-list the candidates to reasonable number for the counselling. After selection of candidates the allotment will be done on the basis of counselling. The counselling Venue & Time will be intimated to the candidates in time, who is to appear personally to offer his/her option, failing which, the claim will be forfeited.
