SERVICE FACTS

MCPs prepaid subscription for crew to use at sea CrewSIM works when the vessel is at sea (not in port) and connected to the MCP network Crew to buy SIM card from the vending machine and insert in an unlocked* GSM phone Before CrewSIM can be used, it needs to be activated CrewSIM, allows crew to make/receive calls, send/receive SMS and use mobile internet (GPRS) on their own unlocked mobile phone Crew to load credit into their CrewSIM account by buying top-ups on board or by topping up online using their credit card at crewsim.mcp.com

*an unlocked phone is a phone that will work with any SIM card (see slide on how to unlock your phone)

TO ACTIVATE CREWSIM

Crew to activate their cards on crewsim.mcp.com (link on the free zone of the crew internet) using the computers on the crew internet caf or their own laptops Go to myPage, choose Register new user Enter the last 7 digits of the CrewSIM number and create a password Click Continue to Activation Enter personal data* Accept the Legal Terms & Conditions and click on Activate SIM CrewSIM will be activated at this point and ready to be used* Click on Sign out (top left hand corner of the screen)

*As required by Norwegian law **After SIM is activated, crew will receive a message on his/her phone (once connected to the MCP network)

HOW TO CHANGE THE PIN CODE OF THE CREWSIM

All CrewSIM cards have a unique PIN-code (5555) which is printed on the front of the SIM card.
For security reasons, we advise that crew change this initial PIN to a code that only they know: Enter **04*5555* the new PIN code (4 numbers of their choice)* repeat new PINcode#

For example, if the new PIN code is 2222, they need to enter: **04*5555*2222*2222#

TO MAKE CALLS, SEND SMS AND USE MOBILE INTERNET

Dial + followed by the country code and number (e.g. +63 123 45678) To call or send SMS to another CrewSIM card: dial the other CrewSIM number (e.g. 88232 1234567) To receive calls and SMS: caller needs to dial the international access code (+ or 00/011 from the US) followed by the CrewSIM number (e.g. 00 88232 1234567) To use mobile internet start any application such as browser or email Instructions on how to set up GPRS (mobile internet) for BlackBerry to be found on the CrewSIM Facebook page, on crewsim.mcp.com or to be requested from ccare
Incoming calls and SMS are free of charge for the CrewSIM subscriber Prices to call +882 32 numbers need to be requested by the caller from their operator

Crew to pay $10 and get a SIM card and a $5 top-up voucher Per minute price to the different destinations No connection fees, no peak hours $0,25 per SMS to any destination No charge for receiving calls/SMS $1/megabyte for use of mobile internet (GPRS) Pricelist poster to be available in the communications corner For rates on countries not listed in the poster, crew to contact (free of charge) CrewSIM Customer Care

TO TOP-UP CREWSIM
Two options available for crew to load up credit to their CrewSIM: Buy a top-up voucher from the vending machine: $10 $20 (get 5 free SMS) $40 (get 15 free SMS) Only $10 and $20 bills accepted by machine Exact amount to be inserted, no change given

Top up online on http://crewsim.mcp.com with the use of a credit card Even if in the free zone, to use this option crew need to pay for internet time When topping up online, crew do not get the bonus SMS

Credits on the account are good for a minimum of 9 months but if topped up before the 9 months period, any remaining credit will be transferred for an additional 9 months period (if not any left credit will be lost after this period)

TO CHECK THE BALANCE LEFT ON THE CREWSIM CARD

Balance on the account can be checked free of charge by dialing *111# or on myPage (crewsim.mcp.com)
Crew can activate feature to check the cost of the last call made and the remaining balance on the card by dialing *111*1# To de-activate this feature, dial *111*0#

In here crew can: Find complete users instructions Activate their CrewSIM subscription Top up their account using a credit card Check their balance on myPage Retrieve the PUK-code to unlock their CrewSIM (after entering a wrong PIN code 3 times, CrewSIM automatically locks for security reasons) Search for other CrewSIM users in the Phone Book Send their questions/comments and suggestions using the suggestion box

HOW TO UNLOCK THE PHONE


If when entering the PIN-code (5555) they receive a message contact service network provider, insert SIM, SIM not valid or similar, the phone is locked. Request an unlocking code from their operator Unlock it by checking on the internet for a site on how to unlock the phone Visit an independent phone shop to have the phone unlocked

Unlocking is perfectly legal, it does not involve changing the IMEI on the phone, which is illegal. Network operators are generally obliged to unlock the phone but can charge for this service.

IF THE CREWSIM CARD IS LOST

If crew lose the SIM card all credit in the SIM will be lost (credit cannot be transferred to a new card) Crew can request that Customer Care cancel the lost subscription so that no one can use it if found Once the subscription is cancelled it can not be re-activated

FAQ

BBM (BlackBerry messenger) is not free with CrewSIM Voice mail and MMS not available with CrewSIM Some operators may not have an SMS agreement with MCP and therefore crew might send an SMS which will not be received. In this case crew need to notify Ccare of the number where they are sending SMS which are not being received

VENDING MACHINE
Vending machine manual enclosed Top-ups are loaded electronically in the machine

If any of the buttons in the machine are showing SOLD OUT and crew still insert money in the machine, 2 things may happen: The money shows in the display for 5 minutes. If during this time crew walks away to get help and another crew inserts money, a higher value top-up may be dispensed The money in the display disappears and since no additional money is inserted, it moves to the UNVENDED CASH of the report

Money in the UNVENDED CASH part of the report is not accounted for and can be returned to crew who have lost money in the machine when no top-up voucher has been dispensed
