25. And easy for Him is everything. His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, ‘Be’, and it is. (Soorah Yaa-seen: 82) So it is He who gives life and death, creates and provides, grants and withholds, and brings the dead to life after their demise, and indeed that is easy for Him ta’aalaa. Nothing is burdensome or difficult for Him, and this is contrary to the creation, for they are burdened with actions, or not capable of performing them. As for Allaah, then nothing is difficult for Him. Your creation and your resurrection will not be but as that of a single soul. (Soorah Luqmaan: 28) 26. He needs nothing. Allaah ta’aalaa has no need of anything, so He has no need of the creation, for indeed He is Al-Ghani (The Self-Sufficient). It is He ta’aalaa who provides for the creation. 27. There is nothing like unto Him, and He is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. (Soorah Ash-Shoora: 11) This negates likening Allaah ta’aalaa to anything1. So the beginning of the verse is a refutation on the Mushabbihah (those that liken Allaah to His creation) and the end of the verse is a refutation on the Mu’attilah (deny the attributes of Allaah). It proves that affirming the names and attributes of Allaah does not necessitate that He is similar to His creation. The creation’s sight and hearing are unlike the Allaah’s ta’aalaa Sight and Hearing.

and He is the Subtle. and nothing would be present without His decree. Such is the case with the rest of the Page 2 of 5 . Owner of Majesty and Honor. Allaah ta’aalaa has decreed the destinies. (Soorah Ar-Ra’ad: 8) So everything has a destiny by which it is disciplined. If anything from this man’s bodily parts or his bodily unity becomes deficient. (Soorah Al-Hijr: 21) So Allaah has predestined for all that is in existence destinies and manners of existence. The creation has for it a set amount of time and an end. And everything with Him is by due measure. Indeed He is Ever-Knowing. And He has set for them an appointed time (of existence in this life). And there will remain the Face of your Lord. the Acquainted. 30. and their weight. He ta’aalaa said: Everyone upon the earth will perish. and everything has a destiny different than that of others. then his whole body is thrown into disorder. (Soorah Ar-Rahmaan: 26-27) www. Allaah has destined their bodies. their organs. And there is not a thing but that with Us are its depositories. the Competent. He has decreed for them their destinies. (Soorah Al-Mulk: 14) So His creation is a proof of His ta’aalaa knowledge and power as He ta’aalaa said: But Allaah is not be caused failure by anything in failure by anything in heavens or on the earth. (Soorah Al-Faatir: 44) 29. He said ta’aalaa said: Does He who created not know. their bodily unity. they can neither change nor modify themselves from that destiny. their senses.

So it is the servant that prays. and www. and this a proof of His complete and perfect Ruboobiyyah (Lordship) and power. and it was not that he did not have knowledge (of them) until after they came into existence. either long or short. (Soorah Adh-Dhaariyaat: 56) He firstly created them. (Soorah Al-Qasas: 88) Everything has a set life span that Allaah ta’aalaa has set. performs hajj. Rather he had knowledge of all things before they came into existence. 32. He knew who was going to be obedience and disobedient. (Soorah Al-Faatir: 11) So life spans are in the Hand of Allaah ta’aalaa. Allaah will not punish his servant for His knowledge. But compensation is given upon actions and not knowledge. and whatever He does not will does not occur. And He knew what action they will perform before he created Page 3 of 5 . and not upon knowledge or destiny. and not the actions of Allaah ta’aalaa. and the ordered them to worship Him ta’aalaa. Whosoever obeys the orders and refrains from the prohibitions achieves correctness. and whosoever disobeys the orders and falls into the prohibitions achieves punishment for his actions. Nothing was hidden from Him before He created them. 31. And He ordered them with obedience and prohibited them from disobedience. He knew what actions they will bring forth before they came into existence. Whatever Allaah wills occurs. so there is a separation between knowledge and compensation. This is why Allaah ordered them and prohibited them. that is easy for Allaah. Indeed. 33. He ta’aalaa said: And no aged person is granted (additional) life nor is his lifespan lessened but that is in a register.therighteouspath. but they will be punished for their actions. compensation is based on actions. As it comes in the statement of Allaah ta’aalaa: And I did not create jinn-kind and mankind except to worship Me. and none will be rewarded until he too acts. So then.

and what has not been willed will not be. and (they say) that the servant is independent in his actions. while the other group went to extremes in affirming the will of the servant. and the creation has a will that is from their attributes. This is why Allaah ta’aalaa said: And you do not will except that Allaah wills. destiny. there is no will for the servants except what has been willed for them. belief or disbelief. Everything acts in accordance to its destiny. (Soorah Al-Insaan: 30) And He ta’aalaa said: And you do not will except that Allaah wills. So the Qadariyyah deny that the actions of the creation enter into the will of Allaah. and tawfeeq (capacity to perform an action). everything acts in accordance with its destiny. His will is always executed. and the servants have a will. This is a refutation on the Qadariyyah and the Jabariyyah. It does not attain what Allaah has not decreed or desired for him. As for Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa’ah. 34. Allaah ta’aalaa has a will. There is no doubt that everything acts in accordance to its destiny. and will. desires. The verse establishes that the will of the servant is not independent but rather it is subjugated to the will of www. wealth and poverty. and His statement “Except that Allaah wills” affirms the will of Allaah ta’aalaa. Lord of the creation. health and sickness. and they subjugate the will of the servants to the will of Allaah in agreement with previous two verses. then they say that the servant has no will. So a group of them went to extremes in affirming the will of Allaah. Indeed. and he subjected their will to His ta’aalaa will.therighteouspath. then they affirm the will of both (Allaah and His creation). the servant acts outside of his own will and desires. (Soorah At-Takweer: 29) So Allaah has a will that is from His attributes. and it is only Allaah that has a will. Allaah is ever Knowing and Wise. as though they were machines. but their will is based on the will of Allaah and are not independent. As for the Jabariyyah. So whatever has been willed for them will be. This is the madh-hab of the Qadariyyah such as the Mu’tazilah and other than them. knowledge and ignorance. So His ta’aalaa statement “And you do not will” affirms the will of the servants. knowledge.
