5 (Projection of Solids I)

Solve all the problems on one page (right hand side) of your sketch book using normal drawing tools. These problems shall then be done using AutoCAD and the print out of the same shall be pasted on one page (left hand side) opposite the solutions done by hand. 1. Draw projections of a hexagonal prism of side 25 mm and height 75 mm when the axis of the prism is perpendicular to the VP. 2. Draw projections of a hexagonal pyramid of side 25 mm and height 75 mm when the axis of the prism is perpendicular to the VP. 3. Draw projections of a hexagonal pyramid of side 25 mm and slant height 75 mm when the axis of the prism is perpendicular to the VP and one side of base is parallel to the VP. 4. Draw projections of a hexagonal prism of side 25 mm and height 75 mm when the axis of the prism is perpendicular to the HP and one side of base is inclined at 35o to the VP. 5. Axis of a pentagonal pyramid of side 25 mm and height 100 mm is inclined at 40o to the HP. Draw its projections when one corner of the pyramid is on HP and 25 mm from VP. 6. One side of an octagonal prism of side 20 mm and axis height 100 mm is in VP while the axis of prism is inclined at 75o to the VP. Draw its projections. 7. Base of a pentagonal pyramid is inclined at 25o to the HP and one side of base in inclined at 40o to the VP. Draw projections of pyramid if side of base is 30 mm and height is 120 mm. 8. One face of a hexagonal prism is on the HP while the axis of the prism is inclined at 35o to the VP. Draw its projections.

4. A plane containing that edge and the axis is perpendicular to HP and inclined at 40o to VP. rests on one of its base corners on HP such that its long edge containing the corner is inclined to the HP at 60o and the side of base. inclined at 30o to the VP. side of base 30 mm and height 75 mm. is held on VP on one of its slant edges. Draw its projections keeping the base towards the VP. . is inclined at 30o to the VP. A pentagonal prism. Draw its projections. These problems shall then be done using AutoCAD and the print out of the same shall be pasted on one page (left hand side) opposite the solutions done by hand. has one of its slant edges in HP. 1. 6. is lying on one of its longer edges in VP and the axis inclined at 40o to the HP. 2. opposite the corner. Draw its projections. Its axis is inclined at 45o to the HP and top view of the axis is inclined at 60o to the VP. A right circular cone. while its axis makes an angle of 60o to the HP. Top vies of this base is inclined at 45o to the XY line. A hexagonal prism. 34 mm diameter and 54 mm long. rests on its base rim on HP with its axis inclined at 45o to HP and inclined at 30o to VP. Draw projection of a right circular cylinder of base diameter 50 mm and length of axis 70 mm. 3. A hexagonal pyramid. edge of base 30 mm and axis 70 mm long. 8. Draw projections of a hexagonal prism. 7. Draw the front and top views of the pyramid when its vertex is kept towards the HP. 6 (Projection of Solids II) Solve all the problems on one page (right hand side) of your sketch book using normal drawing tools. diameter of base 50 mm and height 65 mm. is held so that an edge of its base is parallel to HP. The rectangular face containing the longer edge. Draw the projections of the pyramid when the base corner contained by the slant edge is 50 mm from VP. is fixed centrally on top of a hexagonal prism of 30 mm side and 30 mm height. Draw projections of the combination when the prim is resting on one of its base edges on HP such that the base edge is perpendicular to VP and axis is inclined at 30o to the HP. side of base 30 mm and axis 60 mm long. A right circular cylinder. 5. edge of base 30 mm and axis 65 mm long. base edge 30 mm and length of axis 75 mm. Corner of prism is 20 mm from VP. A hexagonal pyramid. A plane containing the edge and axis of the pyramid is perpendicular to the VP and inclined at 45o to the HP. Its vertex is nearer to VP than its base.Assignment Sheet No. on which the prism rests.
