Assignments must be submitted at the beginning of the class. Late assignments will be accepted with a 10 point reduction in the grade; however, they must be submitted within 2 days of the due date. Assignments must be completed in pencil. Neatness counts. If you have any questions, feel free to ask before the assignment is due. If you are absent, you are responsible for obtaining the assignment and handouts.

Violation of this policy can result in failure of the course and even expulsion from the University. Do your own work. Attendance: You are allowed three unexcused absences without penalty; each additional absence will lower your final grade by three percentage points. Three tardies counts as one absence. The only excused absence is for a UNCG School of Music function. More than nine absences will result in your expulsion from the course. Final Grade: Your semester grade will be determined as follows: Assignments Test 1 Test 2 Final Exam Quizzes Reading Outlines 30% 15% 15% 25% 10% 5%

Your final letter grade will reflect the following numerical grades. A+ = 98-100 A = 94-97 A- = 90-93 F = 0-64 B+ = 87-89 B = 84-86 B- = 80-83 C+ = 77-79 C = 74-76 C- = 70-73 D+ = 68-69 D = 66-67 D- = 65

The Cumulative Final will be held on Friday, April 27th. Exact times forthcoming. There are no makeups for tests or quizzes. If you miss a test or quiz, you will receive a 0 unless you have made prior arrangements with your instructor.

Blackboard: https://blackboard.uncg.edu/ Aside from emails, this will be my primary way of contacting the class, and posting assignments, handouts, and grades. Check it regularly. Since music theory concepts are all built upon each other, you will stay ahead of the game by putting forth consistent effort every day. Do not get behind because it can be very difficult to catch up. I look forward to a great semester!
