1. SCOPE
This document provides an understanding about the process defined & work instruction for the below mentioned activities at KAUST Block email in Iron port ( For Contractors & Staff) Unblock email in Iron port ( For Contractor and Staff )

2. PROCESS
2.1 REQUESITION PROCESS Requestor will send the email with user ID and email ID to IT service desk (Helpdesk) for Ticket creation. (Not applicable for IT Users, They have to directly log a ticket in Ticketing Tool (HPSM). IT service desk will create ticket for Users in Ticketing Tool & Assign it to Messaging & Collaboration Team Messaging & Collaboration Team will Fulfill the request & close the ticket (It can be reassigned back to IT service desk if no proper data) 2.2 TYPES OF REQUESTS Block email address/spam mails.

2.3 APPROVAL MATRIX Any Exceptions should be approved by KAUST Messaging Team Lead

3. TECHNICAL METHODOLOGY
3.1 DETAILED PROCEEDURE AD/Messaging & Collaboration Team Member have to verify the ticket description and email id which need to block. Login to Cisco Iron port from Web based control panel locally with URL http://manage-wthirpsr01.kaust.edu.sa & necessary credentials to carry out the corresponding activity (Mentioned in Ticket) as explained below. Block Emails by Email address. 1. Open the ticket and check for user information & Email ID/Domain to block 2. Open the link http://manage-wthirpsr01.kaust.edu.sa. Ensure the IP from where you accessing the link is static and in the allowed list in Iron port. 3. Click on Mail policies -> Dictionaries

4. Check the Iron port mode, It should be in Cluster mode. If it is not in cluster mode then click on Change mode and select Cluster Iron port-cluster

5. To block the emails, click on Blocked_Emails.

6. Under Add terms, Type the Email address or the Domain name which need to block.

5. Click on blocked_subject. Under Add terms, Type the Subject name which need to block.

Unblock Email address/Domain 7. Follow the same process mention in 3.1.1 upto step 5. 8. For email Address/Domain to unblock click on delete and submit.
