Delaying Products
Lack of Communication
Misinformation Products
Fishbone diagram above describes the main problem which is the less of well integrated system in Carrefours daily operation. Our group said so, because there are so many problems occurred. We put all the problems in the case as the causes in the branch of fishbone diagram. Those problems are: 1. Delaying products. Sometimes the delivery of products from the supplier getting delayed. We analyzed generally this problem and we found that there is lack of good system in the warehouse. For example, because of the bad delivery system and lack of product time schedule. 2. Lack of communication. This was happened between store manager and the employee at the warehouse. 3. Difficulties in getting product report. We found that the store manager difficult to get the clear report from the warehouse employee about which product will arrive and which product is expired. It might be because the employee does not really
understand about his/her chain command, which he supposed to give report to store manager but he did not. 4. Misinformation product. It was about the unorganized product, that the store employee has no information about the product. They still put the products on the shelf continually without the right data and report from warehouse. Thus it made the bad management of products on shelf.
To achieve the goal, Carrefour should become a retailer with a unity among their division such marketing, sales, finance and information technology. To make this unity, Carrefour should implement an integrated ERP system in their company. Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems integrate internal and external management of information across an entire organization embracing finance/accounting, manufacturing, sales and service, customer relationship management, etc. ERP systems automate this activity with an
integrated software application. ERP facilitates information flow between all business functions inside the organization, and manages connections to outside stakeholders. Many organizations consider the ERP as a vital tool for organizational competition, as it integrates dispersed organizational systems and enables flawless transactions and production. So with using ERP not only can integrate each division in Carrefour, but every problem above which happened can be eliminated.
