Diddy because growing up he was all over the TV an diddy was that nigga to me when I was a kid Nas because when I was a kid his song I know I can a piece of his verse made my mind wonder when he said we was kings an queens not no porch monkeys so I look in to my roots an found out life is what you make it suffer By keep living the way of suffering or go forward make your own way. My cousin Pierre carter when I was nine me an him use to do everything I smoked my first time with him he was rapping one day I’m like what you doing sound funny to me he was like free styling I was like I want to learn since then I never looked back...Like my nigga 2 Chains say I’m fucking different why because not one nigga can say I was on they camp or team mentor me in my style I’m original I don’t chill or callab with a lot of artist because hearing others only help or persuade you to change up what you do but most of all I work with some guys doe only the ones I fuck with on a serious tip.. What make your different from rappers? Hard to say I’m my own my style Who Influence your style? I never had a influence but I can say my mother doe because see the first person I seem wear Gucci,Versace etc..But I really never really can for the flashy stuff only want to relate to someone an be understood an be a likable artist hopefully one of the greatest.. Producer Spotlight

Shemaiah

Where are you from? I'm from San Antonio, TX [Texas Made since 89'] How was life growing up in ? Life was good growing up in San Antonio. My family and I are real close, and they keep me focused. How is the music scene in ? I know more gospel artists in San Antonio, mainly because the church I go to allowed me to connect with some. The music scene is more active in Dallas/Austin areas. Who do you have in your play list? Just to name a few: KC & Jo Jo, Brian McKnight, Aaliyah, Boyz II Men, Michael Jackson, R-Kelly, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, (Gospel) Tenth Avenue North, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, (from American Idol) Ruben Studdard, Daughtry, Kik Whalum (jazz)… That's just a quick snapshot I enjoy listening to different styles of music, and to appreciate the art of music through the artist. What made you get into music? My grandmother was into music, and played piano by ear. When she passed away when I was 11, I just kept holding on to music even more. She is the main reason why I still create, even to this day. What type of music do you listen to? I listen to Gospel, Jazz, and R&B. I grew up listening to Gospel and Jazz. R&B is my style when it comes to creating music. Gospel because I grew up going to church, and jazz because that's all my dad listened to! Even today, I still listen to jazz and it is relaxing. Who is your favorite artist and why? If I had to choose, I would say R Kelly because my favorite childhood song is "I Believe I Can Fly" from the movie Space Jam. That song always motivated me! Who is your favorite producer and why? Again if I had to choose one… it would be Jermaine Dupri, simply because he inspires me to go and make my own path. That guy makes it happen, and he never stops! How do you separate yourself from other producers? Always be myself and have my own style! Who influence your style? Pharrell once said: "Focus on your work and squint at success" People like that help me focus on what I need to do vs. what I want to do. It's important to create your own unique style and not blend in with mainstream. You can follow people or you can be yourself. It takes time to get to where you desire to be in life, but like my dad said to me many times, "honor your gift"

How you look at life, is how it will look back at you. Your success depends on your next thought. What do you hope to accomplish in your career? All I want to accomplish in my career, is to create timeless music for people to enjoy What projects have you done? I've done a couple instrumental mix tapes, some collabs with my fam in Michigan, and I have my recent album I.A.L.B.B. on iTunes/Amazon/ CD Baby/etc Where can we hear your music? Just launched my new site www.ShemaiahOnTheBeat.com and I'm also on youtube. com/ShemaiahPopRnB reverberation.com/ShemaiahReed and digital stores: iTunes, Amazon Where can BX25 Vixens readers find you? www.twitter.com/SPS_CEO www.twitter.com /DopeFreshpromo www.instagram/SPS_CEO www.facebook.com/ShemaiahReed www.ShemaiahProductionStudio.com www.ShemaiahOnTheBeat.com DopeFreshpromo.blogspot.com
