Investigate Before You Fluoridate

Don't he misled by claims that all medical and dental authorities endorse fluoridation There is strong opposition to fluoridation from prominent physicians, dentists, and long-range scientists, including many Nobel Prize winners,_who warn of the potential, drug daily for a toxic by ingesting a cumulative, dangers to an individua1's health prolonged period of time.

individual or organization guarantees the safety of fl oridation. An endorsement does not constitute a guarantee and does not assume any responsibility. Fluoridation is compulsory mass medication without precedent and denies the`individual his inalienable right of freedom of choice. It deprives you of you constitutional right to accept or refuse a certain medication. In fact,`fluoridation is medical compulsion in its worst form, for none from birth to death can escape it.

Sodium fluoride is a prescription drug more toxic than arsenic and should be administered on an individual basis and with such precautions as are employed in administering any other potentially dangerous drug.

drug should be administered indiscriminately to the public at large. People react differently to medication. Even the soundest and simplest of drugs have an adverse ef-

fect on some individuals. No reputable physic1an'would ever prescribe the same drugia the same dosage--for all of his patients regardless of their need, age, weight, state of health, individual susceptibility, or personal wishes. The water supply should not serve as a vehicle for drugs. The drinking habits of
individuals vary enormously and are not subject to control of any kind. If sodium fluoride (or a variation) can be added to the water supply to prevent tooth decay, then other drugs can be added for other purposes. No one is deprived of fluoride. Those who want it can easily and inexpensively obtain it in many other ways without intrudingon'the rights of others. These alternative methods of administering fluoride are more effective, less expensive, and_safer since the dosage can be controlled, and it can be withdrawn comp1ete1y*if harmful effects should occur.
20%

of persons ingesting sodiu fluoride consistently will develop mottling (permanent brown stains) of the teeth.

fluoride is added to the water supply, 99% is wasted since only li of water is used for drinking purposes, and only one-tenth of that lf is consumed by children. The countries of Denmark, France, and Italy have prohibited fluorides in an form that can reach the human system, and over 100 cities have discontin ed fluoridation after adopting it.
