Dear Colleagues, On behalf of the SPE/PAPG Annual Technical Conference (ATC) Pakistan 2013, its sponsoring organizations and Technical Program Committee, we encourage you to submit a paper presenting your integrated solutions for Pakistan’s E&P sector. SPE/PAPG Annual Technical Conferences-Pakistan have a legacy of more than fourteen years of bringing together professional from engineering, geosciences, commercial and legal fields related to the global E&P industry in general and Pakistan’s E&P industry in particular. ATC-2013 has become all the more important because of acute “Energy Crisis” in Pakistan and the need to devise an all encompassing strategy including technical, commercial and legal dimensions to overcome it. Availability of energy at reasonable cost is the key for the development and future progress of Pakistan. Please submit your paper by e-mailing at ATC2013@ppl.com.pk. Schedule and guidelines for Abstract and Paper submission is attached below. Last date for submitting the abstracts is 15th June 2013. If selected: (1) Your paper will be included in the conference proceedings, (2) Your paper may be published in leading online libraries such as One Petro and AAPG Data Pages.

Outer part of Hazara-Kashmir-Syntaxis (HKS) has been selected for hydrocarbon prospectivity evaluation as it is still unexplored and located just to the east of prolific Potwar Basin (Pakistan). The results of the study are intriguing from an exploration standpoint and suggest hydrocarbon generation. 2D basin modeling was performed by considering different geochemical and thermal parameters appropriate to the geological setting of HKS area along a structural cross-section prepared by using existing geological maps and relevant subsurface information gained from Potwar Basin well data.
