LETS CELEBRATE We, Filipinos have a colorful and rich culture that should be proud of. As part of our culture we celebrate different festivities in our place. This is a common thing that we observe especially in every barangay. The place will not be complete without fiesta and the people surely make move in celebrating a fiesta. Fiesta is more important than the birthdays we have. That thing makes us different from the other culture. Indeed our place is an isolated one that is why we still practice festivities in our place. Our place is a rural that is why we have many beliefs and activities that we still practice. Fiesta is the top festivity in the list where in the people in our place is so active and prepared in this big day. During this days even though we experience financially crisis we still do celebrate it because we believe that it is a once a year celebration and because most of us in our barangay is in Roman Catholic religion we believe that it is the way we are thanking the God and the Saints that help us by giving us blessings. These beliefs led us to prepare delights, food, drinks, beverages and seats for a huge wave of visitors that will be coming in our places. Sometimes people go door to door because fiesta is an open event where you can go in different house even though you are not welcome. Also even the host doesnt know the visitor they still welcome them with all their heart because they believe that they should share their blessings to others. In addition to the fact that we are known for hospitality we let our visitor eat first and the host will eat after and as the result the host will starve while the visitors will leave with a satisfied stomach. These are how the people behave in this celebration. The celebration wont end by the eating session but also we have different activities that to be done during fiesta. First thing the people do is they will attend mass for thanking and celebrating the mahal na patrona wherein in our case we celebrate the Immaculada Concepcion or Immaculate Conception. At night the party will start and the people will have a sarayaw in the plaza wherein they will have the pachuracha to earn a fund to be used in the church. In the fiesta day many games are done like volleyball, basketball, palocebo, hilaang lubid or tug of war, bingo and also the raffle draw. Truly fiesta is a colorful celebration but sad thing is that the people are spending a big money and some will borrow money or loan in the bank in order to have something for the visitors. I guess this things are the things everybody will change because even a small food will do in order to celebrate the fiesta and eating it with your family. be practical nowadays because life is not a joke!
