Sergeant Ed Torrens, an internal affairs investigator for the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department. Also present is Detective Alicia

Neal, also an internal affairs investigator for the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department. Detective Bertrand, if you could please read the affidavit into the record. THE WITNESS: I, Claudia Bertrand, being

first duly sworn hereby state that my name is Claudia Bertrand, reside at 2950 Northwest 43 Terrace. My date of birth is 3-22-69. My

contact number is 305-796-6193.

I am making

the following statement to Sergeant Edward Torrens, who has identified himself as an internal affairs investigator for the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department, State of Florida, in connection with case number IA 12-001, 002, 003, 005 and 006. I am of sound

mind and I am not under the influence of drugs

or alcohol at this time.

I understand that

giving false information in this statement is in violation of Florida Statutes 837.05, false reports to law enforcement authorities punishable as a misdemeanor of the first degree, 837.06, making false official statements punishable as a misdemeanor of the second degree. DIRECT EXAMINATION Q (By Mr. Torrens) Basically wanted to ask

you a few weeks ago, around about March 26, 27 that was a week -- I think the 26th was the Monday. There are two reports wrote pertaining to T.M. On

about that week information from those reports were published by the media. Okay, we also have So I'm

information that Rosh Lowe was here at GIU. going to ask you pertaining to that. the police reports regarding T.M.? A Q No.

Have you seen

Okay, have you been asked to investigate

anything regarding the T.M.? A Q No. Okay, has any member of another agency

contacted -- you know, law enforcement agency, contacted you seeking information about the T.M.? A Q No. Has any member of our agency spoke to you

or asked you or requested that you provide information regarding T.M.? A No.

been some detectives taking photographs of property regarding the T.M. A Q -A Q A Q Not -No? No. Okay, have you disseminated any Are you aware that occurred?

Not at all. Not at all. You didn't see anybody taking

information regarding T.M.? A Q No, not at all. Okay, have you seen members of the media Have you seen --

here at GIU? A Q A No. No.

Not in -- at least not in the recent,

going back to the dates in question. Q A Q No? No. No. But prior to that have you seen media

out here in GIU? A Yes, I've seen you know, mainly Channel 7

media here in the past in this building but not on the dates you are asking.

Not on those dates, okay.

And basically

they were here, I guess, seeking information? A Well no I think that from the last time

that I had seen them they were here either because they're covering a story, somebody getting arrested and they're outside you know, trying to film. And

other times I don't -- you know, I think I've seen them here but I don't really recall who they spoke to or none of that. Q A Q Okay, did they speak to you? No, no, no. They never speak to me.

Okay, have you seen or asked by any member

here of GIU to see the report just out of curiosity at their work station or anything like that? A Q Not at all. Have you overheard or you know, any

members here at GIU discussing T.M.? A No, other than the basic, you know, their

opinion about the actual case based on what the media's saying about it. You know, we've all had an

opinion about it and we've briefly discussed it. Q Okay, all right. Okay, is there anything

that I might have failed to ask you that you would like to add to this statement? A No.
