The causes of students’ problems were because the students only had few vocabularies in their speaking and they seldom use all vocabulary in their speaking. The population in this research was students in the second year of IPA and IPS. consisted of 112 students. Ed. listened the record of native speaker. the students tried to increase their skill of speaking English. The students learnt to pronounce the good word and studied from the book or dictionary. intonation. Yun Arita v . Jarum. accuracy. students’ vernacular patois problem that gave bad effect of students’ pronunciation. This study tried to find the students’ problems. and the ways to cope with the problems in daily English speaking activity of this senior high school. The researcher took 25% from those students. These show that students still have many problems of speaking English. The students used vocabulary in their daily communication. After giving and making questionnaire and observation. and learnt the right pronunciation and right spelling with the teacher. although they have been encouraged to use English every day. the causes. intonation. This research was categorized as a descriptive research because the researcher wanted to describe the students’ problems in daily English speaking activity of the second grade students of SMA POMOSDA Tanjunganom Nganjuk. These instruments were used to get the data of students’ problems in daily English speaking activity from different classes in the second year students. The students’ ways to cope with the student’s problems were the students doing more exercise and studied with the teacher and friends. This research was based on the fact that the students still have some problems in speaking English. such as: the students’ difficulty to make the sentence and difficulty to make the sentence with the correct structure. and fluency. often did exercise with friends and studied from the book. The Advisor I The Writer. the students only had few vocabularies and they had insufficient exercise to use the correct sentence.A STUDY OF STUDENTS’ PROBLEMS IN DAILY ENGLISH SPEAKING ACTIVITY AT SMA POMOSDA TANJUNGANOM NGANJUK ABSTRACT This research aimed at studying the student’s problems in daily English speaking activity at SMA POMOSDA Tanjunganom Nganjuk. Drs. accuracy and fluency and vernacular patois which influenced their daily English speaking and students impinged regulation of language in the school. The sampling technique used here was a simple random sampling. the students were not confident to speak with correct pronunciation. the researcher found that students of SMA POMOSDA Tanjunganom Nganjuk had many problems. M. and problem of punishment. Students’ insufficient and difficulty to remember all of vocabularies used to communicate with others. The research instruments applied were questionnaire and observation. Finally. although they used English in their daily activity.
