Lizzie I opened this document up today & had a quick reread. It was a delighted reacquaintance with an old friend.

Its something I wrote about 8 years ago. Well, not wrote exactly, edited is a more accurate description. I first read it years and years ago. Its a pretty old book, and every page contains at least one thought you could take out and frame on a wall. Try this one for example -you will be what you will to be .... Its sentiments are timeless, but it was unsatisfactory somehow, out of balance. Decades later, there it was again, electronic version this time, on Gutenberg. So I downloaded it, and started fiddling with it in Microsoft Word .... I didnt change its text very much, and its sentiments not at all -- But when I finished and read it through, it was much better -- now it was in balance, it was now complete and now it made more perfect sense. I said I changed it, but not in the sense of removing and replacing, more in the sense adding something missing. What made all the difference was I changed its gender. No, added a gender, I should say. Now its better. Much better. I cant remember, I may have sent it to you at the time -- or it may have been before your time. I cant recall if I knew you back then. Lotsa love Tony.

As A Woman Thinketh by James Allen Chapter Two The Effect of Thought on Circumstances
A woman's mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected, it must, and will, bring forth. If no useful seeds are put into it, then an abundance of useless weed seeds will fall therein, and will continue to produce their kind. Just as a gardener cultivates her plot, keeping it free from weeds, and growing the flowers and fruits which she requires, so may a woman tend the garden of her mind, weeding out all the wrong, useless, and impure thoughts, and cultivating toward perfection the flowers and fruits of right, useful, and pure thoughts, By pursuing this process, a woman sooner or later discovers that she is the master gardener of her soul,

and makes swift and marked progress. But when she realizes that she may command the hidden soil and seeds of her being out of which circumstances grow. This is just as true of those who feel "out of harmony" with their surroundings as of those who are contented with them. Thought and character are one. and as character can only manifest and discover itself through environment and circumstance. the laws of thought. This does not mean that a woman's circumstances at any given time are an indication of her entire character. She also reveals. The "divinity that shapes our ends" is in ourselves. Good thoughts bear good fruit. That cause may take the form of a conscious vice or an unconscious weakness. And woman.
