So much has been said about VBS that I don’t want to sound redundant, but, VBS was AWESOME

! Thank you to all of the 100 plus volunteers, to the staff and especially to the students that made VBS a success. I believe we will see the fruit of our efforts in the days, months and years ahead. This Sunday evening we will observe the SILENT LORD’S SUPPER service. This is exactly what it says, silent. There will be no talking, preaching or singing. The service will be built around the Lord’s Supper observance and is intended to be a time of personal reflection and communion. I hope the sanctuary is packed for this meaning and moving time of worship. You will be blessed. Deacons, please plan to meet with me at 6:15 Sunday afternoon in the Baraca Sunday School class room. I look forward to seeing you in all the worship services this Sunday.

CELEBRATION OF THE 4TH
Thanks to all the Chancel Choir members who shared last Sunday evening. The patriotic medley was a blessing. Thanks, too, to Hal Burrell for sharing ‘Statue of Liberty”, Erin Timmons for singing “Let Freedom Ring’ and John & Kay Hall for singing “I’m Proud to be an American”. Next Sunday night, July 7 , will be a celebration of Communion. We’re calling it silent, but it will be highlighted by being musical background to unspoken worship. Come be blessed as we are obedient to “This, do in remembrance of Me.” Our awesome Youth will also share their report of their recent Mission work in Memphis, TN. In the evening worship of July 14. Come that Sunday night and be blessed!

ASSOCIATIONAL SENIOR LUNCH
Join us next Monday, July 8 as we travel to Springfield Baptist Church in Jakin for our Associational Senior Adult covered dish luncheon. We’ll depart the church at 11:30 on the van and get there by noon. I’m told we will really enjoy L B Ingram who is a ‘whistler’. He will amaze us with his renditions of our favorite Gospel songs.
