    As a starter, he’s 0-0 with a 3.97 ERA in six starts, his last coming on July 1. On June 26 he started against Carolina and allowed one run on three hits and a walk over three innings. As a reliever, Howard is 3-0 with a save, a 0.61 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 29 innings. Started 18 games for Frederick in 2012, going 4-10 with a 4.83 ERA. A seventh-round draft pick of the Orioles in 2011 out of Central Michigan, where he went 4-4 with a 2,78 ERA in his final season and received first-team All-Mid-American Conference honors.     Won his last start, beating Salem at home on Saturday. He threw five innings and allowed two runs and a walk, while fanning two. Has second-best ERA in CL. Is 0-0 with a 2.70 ERA in two starts against the Keys, throwing four shutout innings and 71 pitches in his last start against them on June 24 at home. Allowed three runs over six innings to the Keys at Harry Grove Stadium on April 27. Went 4-7 with a 3.40 ERA for Class-A Lake County in 2012, making 23 starts and one relief appearance. Drafted by the Indians in the 14th round in 2011 out of Feather River JC (Calif.), after turning down the Rays in 2010, who drafted him in the 17th round. The Indians signed Anderson, who was committed to play for TCU, for $250,000.

KEYNOTES:
HOME SWEET HOME?: Keys Trent Howard has been almost untouchable on the road this season and has been good at home, though nearly all of his struggles this year have come at home. Howard has a 3.86 ERA in nine games and three starts at Harry Grove Stadium, compared to his 0.64 ERA in 10 games and three starts on the road. OFF TO NYC: Keys first baseman Christian Walker and Carolina shortstop Francisco Lindor will play tonight’s game and then fly to New York City Saturday morning in preparation for Sunday’s All-Star Futures Game at Citi Field. Walker, who was added to the U.S. roster after the intial release, has been on an offensive tear, hitting .341 with three homers and eight RBIs in his last 10 games. HOT OFF THE DL: Carolina second baseman Joey Wendle came off the disabled list after a month-long stay on May 21 and Frederick catcher Michael Ohlman came off the DL the following day after six weeks on the shelf. Since then, they ’ve been two of the hottest hitters in the Carolina League. Ohlman’s hit .360, racked up 59 hits, 11 doubles, four triples and 10 homers, driving in 32 runs, since his return and Wendle is batting .297 with 53 hits, 15 doubles, three triples, 11 homers and 32 RBIs since getting back in the lineup.

This Day in Keys History
July 12, 1993: The Keys beat Lynchburg 8-5, completing a four-game sweep of the Hillcats. Curtis Goodwin went 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI and Basilio Ortiz went 2-for-3 with four RBIs for the Keys.
