POSITION SPECIFICATION

POSITION LOCATION SUMMARY

Director of Accounting Minneapolis, MN

The Director of Accounting reports to the COO and is a member of the company s management team. This key position will be responsible for all accounting activities, and supports three organizations. This position is a blend of hands on work and analytical/management consulting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversight, management, and creation of all financial information and reporting


(balance sheet, income and cash flow statements) Provides and manages all accounting operational functions for the organization, including accounts receivable and payable, general ledger management, Cash Management, collections and annual audit (must be able to backup staff and perform all duties) Prepares and maintains regular financial forecasting (budgets), analysis, and planning reports; ensures the continuing effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting Ensures the maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures Develops recommended budget planning and budget control processes; Executes and manages payment of all corporate tax payments working with the

companys accounting firm Create and files taxes for the companys class action administration funds for State
and Federal filing (as needed and quarterly reporting) Informing top management of company performance and provide advice on financial issues Guides a team of 3 accountants (one staff accountant and two Accounting clerks) Other Duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 7 years relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior level Accounting position Minimum BA in Accounting Preferably CPA or MBA with emphasis in accounting Must have created and managed a financial budget of multi- company organization Experience in growing organizations preferred Outstanding EXCEL skills; Proficiency in M.S. Word and Outlook.
