Bid 2NT to invite! (with 16-17 points) Partner bids game with 8-10 points

Common Mistakes
1. Don’t jump when introducing new suit! CHILL when you have many points. 2. Responder’s no trump bids do not promise balanced hand! 3. PASS at suitable contract when game is unattainable. 4. Prefer suited contract, it is fine to play without support

Special Cases

Minor Support
Only if: 1. No major suit to introduce 2. 5+ cards in the minor suit 3. Either 6- points or 10+ points, otherwise prefer 1NT Inverted minor raise: 2C: 10+ points, 3C: 6- points

Opener’s Reverse
Occurs when one makes a jump shift

•E.g. 1C - 1D - 2H •Promises: •Extra values (16+ at lv 2, 18+ at lv 3) •5 cards in first suit, 4 cards in second suit •Why?

Are these reverses? 1♦ - 1♠ - 2♣ 1♦ - 1♠ - 2♥ 1♦ - 1NT - 2♣ 1♦ - 1NT - 2♥

responder

•E.g. 1X-1NT-2NT •2NT as a strong bid •18-19 points when 1X-1Y-2NT
